Waited 10 minutes with only two people ahead of us. Were told when we went to order that the only thing they had left other than cupcakes was a kids fruit/cheese plate or chicken strips that we saw them turning over in a toaster over using their bare fingers. We would have appreciated a sign stating they were out of everything so we could have gone somewhere else, but after waiting our three year old was really hungry so we ordered a fruit plate. Another 10 minutes before it arrived. Our boy did like playing with the toys though!

My husband and I took our 21 month old son to Crumsby’s on Sunday, March 29th, 2015. We were excited as my husband had never been before and last time I went our son loved it. Our excitement was short-lived. The place was packed with Moms and children, to be expected, my son went straight for the train table. I squatted down to help him select a train and I was thoroughly grossed out at the state of the train table, covered in dirt, gravel and chalk dust. Ew! Once I had my son settled at the grimy table, I went to the counter to order a coffee and a snack with my husband. As we were approaching the counter, we could hear one of the two young men working there, berating the other over entering an order wrong, he was huffing and being generally rude to his colleague. We were a little put off but placed our order for coffee and snacks. When we turned to sit down, the tables that weren’t occupied were covered in either crumbs, discarded food, napkins and dirty dishes. I found a quasi clean table, wiped it down myself and sat on a used napkin that was left on the chair. Another ew! Before sipping my coffee, which arrived with a thud and a grunt of teenage angst, I went to wash my hands in the washroom. Wow, what a mess the washroom was, dirty sink, dirty floor, no hand towels, I didn’t dare venture towards the toilet. Bigger Ew! Back at the table, we drank our coffee’s with gusto and carolled our son out of there. You’d think that an establishment which is geared towards children and families would pay a lot more attention to the cleanliness of the toys, kids areas and tables. On this point, Crumsby’s epically fails. As for customer service, there was none. I will never be back.

Kid friendly. Gluten free options. Fun atmosphere in the old Royal oak schoolhouse. Great service and good cupcakes.

Great coffee house. Friendly, open, fun, clean and kid friendly! Food is amazing with some gluten free options. Great presentation. Coffee is great but not quite as customizable as some of the upper end coffee shops. Paid $ 12 for a quesadilla and salad and an Americano. A little pricey, but I was happy that my daughter could play! I give it 5 for the whole of what it is. A kid friendly coffee shop doesn’t get much better with the exception of maybe more toys! :)
