I sympathize with the staff who have to work there. Street people have taken it over — much like the location on Pandora as well. They need security in there 24⁄7 but what poor rent-a-cop wants to get stabbed for minimum wage? It’s symptomatic of a downtown core that is transforming into Vancouver’s Downtown East Side. Avoid at all costs.

I have literally just stared into the gaping asshole of Canada. It is a garbage strewn tomb of sin, a hedonistic sinking ship and we are all waiting in line to drown in a river of shame and human shit. Best mcdouble I’ve ever had.

This locations is a total disaster! This is where all the homeless crack heads, pot heads and alcoholics go to eat or get their free coffee. You can always count on trying to push through the crowd of homeless people and pan handlers that congregate at the entrance. They don’t beg for money there or they will stop getting their free coffee. It’s a deal that management has worked out, but they meet outside of the front door to socialize with other transients and it makes it difficult to get through. The service is slow and inefficient and not food safe! I’ve eaten there three times in the past ten years and have gotten stomach cramps and diarrhea each time. I’m guessing it’s due to some sort of food poisoning from the lack of «Food Safe’. I’ve gone three times, because I tell myself that it was probably an isolated incidence, but sadly it/they was not. The last time I was there was at 3pm and they had the machines out cleaning behind them. Remember that this was at 3pm not 3am! When I ordered my McChicken and fries, the guy that was cleaning the floor with a dirty rag went over and started to assembly my sandwich. They gave me the exact one which he handled with his dirty hands. He didn’t wash them! I asked for the manager and informed her what happened. She didn’t apologize, she just told me that she’d get me another. So she ordered another one and the exact same thing happened. That same dude went over and assembled the second sandwich with his freaking dirty hands! I couldn’t believe it! So I asked for the manager once again. Told her again… she went over the the guy and talked to him. He started to make the third sandwich, but this time he wiped his hands with the dirty rag that he was using to clean the floor with and then made the sandwich. I spoke with the manager a third time and told her that I didn’t want a third sandwich and tried to educate her on «Food Safe» techniques, but she seemed very apathetic to the entire situation and that is probably the reason why this location sucks! Don’t get me wrong. I usually like eating at McDonald’s and I believe that most people give it a bad name, but someone is eating there… a lot of people eat there. They have some great choices, if you want to eat healthy, there’s food there for you too. Their coffee is great. Strong, but tasty! The location across from the Up Town Centre is fantastic. The one with the kid’s playground. Do yourself a favour! Unless you’re a homeless crackhead wanting free coffee refills, don’t go to this one on Douglas St. It’s not good… really…really bad!

I only went here because I saw an advertisement for«poutine» fries. I’ve never heard of this dish and decided to go to McDonalds to try it. It cost $ 3.50 for one serving of fries with gravy and cheese curds. Overall, great to try but was a little salty. Next time I’m in Canada, I will look for poutine at a local restaurant.

Worst McDonalds ever. Went in with the kids and asked where the restroom was. «Oh, we’re unloading». I wasn’t sure what that had to do with anything but the lady looked at me like I was an idiot. «We unload the truck through the bathroom area.» So apparently they’re blocked off for hours. Anyway, I go ahead and order a kids happy meal. Then they tell me they’ll have to give me a refund because they don’t have the yogurt OR apple splices. They’re unloading the truck of course. «It must be 11pm» you say. Nope, 7pm.

McDonald’s is McDonald’s, you say? Well, you say, um, right. But still, for a 24-hour McDonald’s, this is fairly well run. The floors may not be clean, but the staff is perfectly willing to make your orders fresh even at 3AM, as opposed to handing you any old food laying around. A very decent bunch of folks work the night shift; I can’t say what it’s like in the day, but I bet it’s typical.

McDonald’s with chandeliers was just completely after my heart. They added a bunch of new menu items and started Monopoly. It was all so appealing. French fries and Fruitopia entirely hit me into the comfort zone. And I took a Mushroom Swiss Chicken Baugette abroad for my dinner on the Victoria Clipper. And it was awesome!
