has gotten even worse I went in yesterday with my friend and they brought my food out but took 30 min to bring my friends food out and by time his arrived I was almost done my food. his eggs were watery and made him sick. he got food poisoning it turns out! they also continuously burn coffee

Excellent gelato and coffee drinks. We stopped in one evening for dessert and coffee. A wide variety of flavors, decent prices, free wifi and great location view was an excellent experience. Would come back again. Stop by if you’re in Victoria.

First time here. The portions are big. The food is so delicious, I will be coming back for more. Real friendly service. I really like the décor, so cozy.

Delicious food and wonderful staff! Highly recommend the Meditteraneo panini. Delicately melted and gooey inside with crispy bread holding it together. Glad we decided to stop for a bite to eat!

Oh the scent of their food here was the first thing that hit us as we walked in.
The building & layout of the resturant reminds me of chic Southern California lounges.
My girlfriend devoured their wings food & service was friendly yet brief as they were busy.

I love the affogattos here! And the coffee is perfect.
It’s been a while since I’ve ordered food at this place, but I remember the pastas and salads being really good and a decent price for downtown. The atmosphere is amazing. One of my favourite cafes.

great location, right inside Bastion Square, but not just touristy, but even the regulars who work in the area…

This was a lovely little place to come sit on the patio and enjoy the live music playing. They serve affogato, which is isn’t easy to find, but one of my favorites! Your choice of ice cream, with a shot of espresso poured over it. And as a bonus, Paradiso Di Stelle will pour a shot of liqour of your choice over it too! So good with Frangelico!

Best pasta ever!
I enjoyed the freshness of the basil, and meat sauce. Best pasta I have anywhere. We can tell it was home made. Latte and Americano are excellent as well.
The owner definitely have put in a lot of heart in pasta and the coffee, we felt it.
The gelato, is home made, not too sweet, it was just right for us.

While the selection of gelato was adequate, they didn’t have pistachio, which is my favorite. The freezer was turned on too high and the gelato had freezer burn. Otherwise, the ambiance was cute and the location is great.

This is a case of having a fairly good product, but staff with a terrible attitude. My god, I felt like they were doing me a favour by letting me buy something from them. I ordered a traditional latte, which was very good — lovely flavour and colour. Also, a muffin, which they do not make in store, but was good quality (I don’t think they make anything in store) My friend and I sat on the patio, which has a lovely view, but the whole experience was spoiled by the sullen staff. Honestly, we felt like we were inconveniencing them by ordering.
Still, not completely deterred, I wanted an iced coffee yesterday and as I was in the area I decided to give them another try. The iced coffee was not great and the staff were once again horrid. Condescending when I asked for a recommendation on a beverage, dismissive when I chatted about the area — and I was the only customer in line at the time.
I think they get away with the attitude because of the location, but I won’t be back.

Go to this place on a monday! Pasta special is out of this world.
Team E&D (that’s me and my boyfriend) scour the city for the best eats on a budget that mean business in the quality and home-​made-​ness and love department.
This place rocks. Of course the patio is amazing, and yup. gelato… delicious. BUT what you must try is the pasta. I swear you could close your eyes and pick out any one and be very very happy. I like the pesto there (hand made and a luscious shade of green).
oh, and the coffee is prepared with love too. The owner is a stickler for quality and it shows in his restaurant.

Paradiso is a good place to enjoy some gelato, the outside, & people watching. We wanted to sit on the outdoor patio at the The Local Kitchen & drink some beer, but there was a wait & we were tired so we ended up at Paradiso. They have a small selection of beer & ciders, a lot of gelato, some prepared sandwiches, & a dismal pastry case. I got a chocolate sundae made with their Baccio flavor gelato (chocolate & hazelnut) and I thought the gelato flavor was divine. The sundae was just ok — very little whipped cream, no hot fudge, no banana, no cookie/​wafer, weird powdered chocolate. With all the many ice cream & gelato stores in Victoria, I would recommend going elsewhere for a sundae but this is a good place for scooped gelato. A beer & a chocolate sundae was around $ 14.
