had samosas, different kinds of curry, and korma. was def satisfied in terms of taste, but i just wish they gave larger portions of the curry/korma because there is a lot more rice than curry on the plate. not the cheapest food in the plaza, but the taste is actually really good(esp compared to shit like aunty’s) and their naan bread is delicious service is great, the older gentleman waiting tables there is really friendly and funny if you ever have the chance and are daring, try out their bangalore chicken(it’s not in the menu) for a fun surprise.

Shared a chicken korma with a friend for dinner. The portion size was decent and the food was tasty. It wasn’t the cheapest place on the plaza, but the food was worth it.

The food is pretty good, not that amazing or anything. I like their curry a lot actually. They have a pretty comprehensive menu, which I enjoy. I usually get take-out from here. What I found weird is that they tin-foil all their items. The chicken, the kebabs, and even the salad was tin-foiled! It made it really hard to un-pack and eat.

This is a really great place to try out curries within the Waterloo region. I believe that this is the only Bangladeshi restaurant there is in Waterloo and it was the best representation of that particular cuisine. It is conveniently located in the university plaza too so it is a great place to walk to. The staff there is friendly and the place has a pretty good ambience that is good for a typical ethnic restaurant. One of the best things is that a lot of their curries have slight variations of spiciness in them. If you are one to hate spicy food, their butter chicken is the best bet. Otherwise there is not much to eat for people who cannot tolerate spice as most of their meals have varying degrees of spiciness. For those who love spicy food, try out their samba curry, which is rated 3 chillies(most spicy) on their menus. One of the employees told my friend that nobody was able to finish the samba completely. One bad thing however is that $ 10 for a plate of butter chicken with 4 chunks of chicken breast and rice may not be the best value for money. Overall a great place to eat out but with issues regarding lack of variation of less spicy foods and the seemingly overpriced food.

This place is pretty good! I’ve been meaning to try it for quiet some time now and I finally did. I ordered the butter chicken with rice(comes with rice/naan). The butter chicken sauce itself tasted really good! However there were only about ¾ pieces of chicken in the plate which was a total bummer. Also the sauce isn’t enough for the amount of rice you get. I wish they would separate the rice and sauce in different packaging. The rice texture was also very different. It wasn’t grainy, I feel like the rice pieces were all broken so it felt and looked like little spheres instead of rice grains… lol Overall the butter chicken was really good! A little pricey for the amount of food you get($ 10.50) but the taste is worth it :) The placement of the restaurant in the university plaza is a little secluded and I feel like that’s mainly why not a lot of people come here but I would recommend trying it at least once!

Best food in the plaza in my opinion. The Tandoori chicken with Naan is amazing, especially with the yogurt sauce, I get it nearly every weekday. Price is fairly reasonable for the quality of food you are getting.

Best Indian/Bangladeshi food I have had, worth visiting. There is probably nothing I can specifically recommend everything is worth trying. Also the Nan is out of this world good.

There is a new dimension to eating when spiciness comes at play. Enter the Bangalore Chicken from Kismet. Honestly, I only came here for this dish. I was told it was next level spicy so there I was. In the menu, there she was, scribbled something along the lines of «only for the daring» $ 13. Feeling rather daring, I ordered my spicy with a side of naan. The naan tasted decent, its been so long now that i forget the exact details but it was definitely naan like. Some where in-between very-good and excellent. It’s not great enough to write a paragraph about so it cannot get an outstanding. Now comes the main feature, the Bangalore Chicken. First off, It punches you in the face the second you open the lid. It came as a hellish ocean of spicy with a few bites of chicken breast lurking within the depths of the bowl. At this point you will be tearing up for two reasons. One, because food is beautiful thing. Two, because its physically demanding to stare at. Now remember, I had to actually eat it. So I rip off some ‘very good’ naan, dip it the lava, then into the mouth it goes … gg. I got rekt that day(and night). Disclaimer: Please do not attempt to ingest+digest lava the day before an interview or an exam.

I feel like this place does not get as much attention due to positioning. It’s a bit off to the side in the corner of the plaza and it doesn’t have a really flashy sign to catch passersby-ers attentions. Personally, I really enjoyed the food here. The portion sizes are a decent amount if you’re not looking to be stuffed, just enough to be satisfied. Their food tastes less artificial then other places I go to. Almost carries a home-cooked feel to it. I’m Chinese, so I can’t really judge on authenticity, but it seemed legit to me. :)

I’m rating this restaurant 3.5 stars I came here with my family for dinner and we ordered from their All Day Lunch Special Menu. We had: Tandoori Chicken with basmati rice, salad & mint sauce, Chicken curry with basmati rice and Brinjal Bhaji(Eggplant curry) with naan. We ordered the curry dishes with medium spice and it still had a bit of spiciness but we want to try it with more spice next time. The two curries had their unique taste. It was rich and flavourful, yet not overpowering. The tandoori chicken was seasoned well, very flavourful. Although one chicken leg was spicier than the other. The naan bread was very good. I don’t like food that is too greasy so I was happy to bite into naan that was soft and chewy and did not have much butter left on the surface. The basmati rice tasted good — just your typical basmati rice. The restaurant is clean and the staff are very friendly. Service was good. The portions were okay. Expect rice or naan to take up more of your plate than the chosen dish(for the all day lunch specials anyways). However, we were full and we will definitely be visiting again! Also, there are lots of vegetarian options! Please note that if you want to pack up your leftover food you need to pay extra for the take-out boxes! I don’t remember how much but it was probably less than $ 1.

I would give this 3.5 stars. Definitely a great choice for Indian cuisine. The portions of meat to rice can be a bit off sometimes but it generally tastes great. Service is great but may take a while sometimes.

Restaurant is neat and clean. But food quality and taste is on the lower side. We tried veg and non veg dishes but didn’t like even a single item. I would like to avoid the rest for my next visits to the Waterloo.

I’ve tried a few of their veg curries, and they’re pretty disappointing. They were all seriously lacking in taste and quality. Maybe their non-veg curries are better… I understand that since they’re so close to campus, they can get away with lower quality food, but still. I wouldn’t recommend anyone go there if they’re looking for good Indian food.

The food tastes good, but in some of the rice dishes they only give you a small amount of meat. The service is okay. The guy at the cash counter is really rude.

The store front is unassuming, walked past it for years before going in. However, the food is the real deal. Really delicious curries and amazing naan. The food tastes fresh even though it’s curry, and apparently really healthy for you too. Service is a bit lackluster, and the prices are a bit high. Overall would recommend this place to others

We were starving and decided to forget the kind of service we received earlier and to indulge in our meal. it was seriously lacking appeal and taste. We ordered two items on the menu and both items had a very bland and cold taste to it. Definitely will not be trying this place again in Waterloo. Heard Aunty’s Kitchen was a lot better. Will give that place a try next time.

Not the most attractive looking restaurant in the plaza but the food is decent. I really like the lamb and mixed vegetable curry. The curry is little too salty for my taste. The naan is huge, and its absolutely delicious! Must try it, its definitely the highlight on the menu.

The food itself is not great, but the naan is outstanding! I sometimes just get naan to go. The dahl soup is pretty decent, but I’ve never liked any of the curries(poor quality veg, poor flavouring). Decent service, but the main server/cashier sometimes has a bit of an attitude.

Chicken Korma is yum. They have also been nice enough to prep me an egg or paneer Korma upon request. The paneer may be extra – it has been a while since I had that dish. Yummy naan, nice lassi. Their food is always delicious and fresh.
