This place was fairly empty throughout our whole visit and they seated us promptly. The prices are around average(maybe slightly less). I ordered the Bulgogi beef with rice, and the version they sold was not on a plate but was in a bowl and was soup based with many bean sprouts, onions and other light vegetables. Kind of hoped there was more beef because I think the proportions were slightly off with too much vegetables. The rice was also too wet and squished, so there was effort required to eat the rice because it was very sticky. They served us 3 side dishes that had unlimited refills: kimchi, potatoes and beancurd skin. I tried my friend’s dish which was the wonton soup with egg drop and glass noodles. I think this was better than my dish. I feel pretty neutral about this place, but I’ll definitely try something new if I come back again.

very nice staff and food. had the pork bone soup and it was better than seoul soul and nuri village! they added some bean sprouts on top and that was a really nice touch. the food takes a little long(really not a big deal tho) but its always bubbling and soo fresh. love their kimchi too! its fermented for a longer time than usual so it has a more sour taste! older people will like it! :)

Come for the pork bone soup, leave because the service is bad. This place is okay. Its owners are the same as Dawon in the plaza, a restaurant that never impressed me. The food here is good. The special pork bone soup is interesting and the meat falls right off the bone. However, having potato noodles and rice is redundant. The pancham are middling at best, and the jjangmyun was lacking substance. The prices are okay. The kamjatang is overpriced if you get the special, although I suppose you are paying for tofu and noodles. The jjangmyun was not worth it. Service here is bad. They are understaffed, slow, and when I asked for extra bowls –which come automatically at owl — our waitress completely forgot. I tried to wave her down, but she never came back or even looked at our table. I had to stand up at the counter to pay and waited about 5 minutes before she even took my money! Really bad service. They need to hire more people or pick up their feet. Overall if you want to come here, get take out. Also, they take credit, which is nice since not all plaza restaurants take credit.

Came here and ordered their pork bone soup. They heavily salted 1 side of the pork bone and it was extremely uncomfortable to eat. I had to counter act the super saltiness by drinking a lot of tea, except they don’t give you the pot, they only a small cup so I had to constantly ask for refills. Also the soup base didn’t have much flavor except for saltiness. Lastly my girlfriend ordered a dish that was supposed to come with an egg, but they didn’t give us one until we asked.

I came with a friend today and we both had the Pork Bone Soup Special for a reasonable $ 11.85 after tax. This is the dish that the other reviewer(Jennifer L.) is referring to when she says that the Pork Bone Soup has additional sweet potato noodles and tofu added(I don’t think the regular Pork Bone Soup has these add-ons). The soup came out hot and bubbling, and had just the right amount of spice. The portions are very generous and I would have easily been full eating only half of the portion given. Service was prompt and the couple running the shop seem very friendly. It’s true that the potatoes aren’t as crispy and yummy as those from Seoul Soul, but the soup itself doesn’t have that layer of orange oil you’d tend to see at Seoul Soul. The main dish itself shines, even if their banchan game isn’t as strong. I would highly recommend Sowon if you want a cheap, hearty, filling Korean meal in the Plaza :)
