Rice cream is closed :(When I went today their store was dark and there was a notice of termination at the front.
Was really excited to try their sushi but apparently they weren’t getting a lot of customers.

Its sort of pricy, but I absolutely love their torched sushi. It is also fun to watch them burning the sushi toppings.

Ricecream sells unique creamy torched sushi, that’s pretty good. Nothing that will blow your mind, but it’s delicious in its own way. I do think it’s worth a try, but I don’t think I’d ever get it again. Maybe if it was a bit cheaper? But I personally think $ 10 for 6 pieces of sushi isn’t worth it. You’re not gonna get filled up by this at all. $ 10 can go a longer way than this :’(As a student, I’m too poor for this.

Torched oshizushi (pressed sushi). The presentation is neat and beautiful. I have to say that I find myself fall in love with the package more than the sushi (this is also the reason I’m rating this place for 4 stars). The sushi is a bit greasy and I definitely don’t want to eat more than the 9 pieces I get (if you order the select, it has 9 pieces which includes 3 different flavours. A single flavour order comes with 6 pieces). When I pick up the sushi, I can see the oil at the bottom of the box. I’m a visual person so I would say the price is fair.

I’m a HUGE SUSHI FAN and this place to me is amazing. Eat the sushi fresh so it’s still warm and soft. The rice almost melts in your mouth and is a bit creamier than regular sushi rice. The fish and shrimp was fresh, with different unique flavours that were all tasty. I recommend the spicy salmon and basil pesto shrimp. I’m definitely coming back again to try the «creamy tart».

This place is fantastic and really unique! I’ve gotten the salmon roll a lot and they put the salmon on top and in the middle of each piece and torch the sushi. It’s actually pretty cool to see live. Then they package it in a small box that looks like a pencil case. The presentation is really neat and it takes great. It has a lot more flavour and it’s more creamy than normal salmon sushi with soy sauce.
I think around $ 10 for 6 pieces is fair for how unique their food is. Try this place out sometime!

It tastes ok (slightly oily) but for the price of 10 dollars you only get 6 or 7 pieces which is definitely not enough.

You get a nice box as packaging for your torched sushi, 6 pieces per package. It’s like JaBistro in Toronto, except the takeaway version and a bit cheaper.
I think the prices are very reasonable. Think about the other a-​la-​carte sushi places available: whether it be Watami, or even the meh quality sushi on UW campus, you will end up paying around the same price. Original cream and spicy cream are sold at $ 8 and $ 9 for reference.
Also, because of all the sauce and creaminess, you will probably be able to satisfy your hunger more from eating here than another establishment. It’s a nice treat to have once in awhile :) Never any waits or lineups during the times I have gone as they make in batch. Make sure to eat it fresh and have the sushi melt in your mouth.

It’s easy to be different, but even very difficult to be better. RiceCream diverts from traditional sushi, adding a creaminess to the taste palate. I really can’t say I enjoy it more than traditional sushi but the level of creativity definitely makes this a must try.

Best tasting sushi I have ever tried. It’s nothing like the other sushi places around Waterloo. Their sushi is very unique. If you like trying something different, definitely check this place out.
Don’t know what to order? Try the spicy cream bite, that is my favorite!

Usually I never write reviews but I decided to write one especially cause they don’t have any yet.
This place is SO GOOD! Even though the sushi is very pricey it’s AMAZING. Every bite I take I end up sitting in my seat just asking myself how can something taste this good. I highly recommend this place!
