My husband and I always make it a point to stop by this bistro when we are in the area. We loved it so much that we decided to ask them to cater our wedding rehearsal dinner for about 50 people. Everything was delicious and we had compliments all around. There is a new staff member who is very friendly and efficient and the cook and owner is as lively and friendly as she always is when we stop by. We also asked them to make some finger food for after our ceremony and they wowed us with amazing curry meat balls. They are to die for! The juicy meat combined with the hint of sesame flavour was incredible and it just magnified the sweet and rich flavour of the curry. This is definitely my favourite Malaysian place!

We loved the salad rolls and home made peanut sauce. It was quite a wait for our entrees with only one other table in the place. The ribs were okay. The Nasi Goreng was the big disappointment. Would not recommend. The chicken curry was quite good and if I did go back it would be for the salad rolls and chicken curry. The bill was a pleasant surprise at $ 40 including tip for 4 dishes. Would I go back? Probably not.

My family & I dined at the Borneo Bistro a couple of evenings ago, and I have to say it is some of the tastiest Malaysian food I’ve had. The lady chef is amazing with her combination of the right amount of everything to achieve a very enjoyable dinner. I sincerely hope that people find out about this tucked-away restaurant and enjoy this wonderful cuisine. I highly recommend it to anyone, spice-lovers or otherwise, as they are very accommodating.

fantastic place! we had three dishes that were all delicious(chicken curry, spicy drunken prawns, creamy wine sauce noodles and chicken). my dad is afraid of spicy food, so the chef recommended a good dish for him and made sure it didn’t have too much spice. the chef and her husband are super nice, chatted with us about the food and Malaysia, and made us feel very welcome. the location isn’t great, but the food and hospitality are worth the trip! great prices, great food, highly recommended!

Great flavourful food! Visiting from the lower mainland and this is a great little jewel in the area. Apparently they are moving, but the food is great. Lots of flavour! Give it a shot!

Last week I stepped into BB and I am so glad I did! This place has a straight forward menu and delivers with excellent flavors. We ordered the ribs, curry, salad rolls, dumplings, and the seafood noodle special… Yes, we were hangry. The ribs were outstanding. The marinade/sauce is tangy, sweet, with a hint of spice. I would recommend getting the white rice with it and have some of the sauce with the rice. The curry came with very tender and juicy chicken. But the star in there were the potatoes. Yumm. If you know your curry, you know that few things come close to curry soaked potatoes when they are nice and soft(but still retain their shape). This review is getting long so I will talk about my favorite part. The peanut sauce here is hands down the best peanut sauce I have ever had in any Asian restaurant. Therefore, you must absolutely order either(or both) the salad rolls or dumplings. Its a must order. If you’re ever in the area, stop by this place. Hooray for food! Oh, btw, another plus there wasn’t any msg in the food. My wife can testify(she’s pro with that).

My wife and I went on Saturday when they have a special Malaysian Laksa which is wonderful. If you’re looking for a tasty Saturday noodle dish go there.

Ok so here’s the deal: this is a tiny little spot in an odd area of West Kelowna, and it is 100% worth the trip! We were feeling like something different, so decided to look for a new spot to try, and boy did Unilocal deliver! They have a tiny menu with only a few items, which really helps with Diners Paralysis(you know, when you see eight pages of menus and you have no idea what you want?) We chose the potstickers, chicken curry, and the ginger chicken. Originally we wanted the ginger chicken with sweet potato noodles(because YUM), but unfortunately they were out so instead we had mung bean noodles(which, actually, YUM!) When I called to place my order the guy was so cheerful and chirpy, and we ended up having a fun conversation. We drove over to pick our order up and discovered the place is tucked in the corner of this tiny mall, totally off the beaten track in West Kelowna. There were a couple of people leaving as we arrived, and the place was empty(you should all rectify this, btw). We were warmly greeted and quickly served — I paid our bill which I had to double check because it was twenty two dollars. TWENTYTWO! For TWO people’s food! We grabbed our food but as we left realised they hadn’t put the curry in — when we popped back in the mother(the chef) laughed uproariously at her mistake; she was awesome! We got the food home and cracked it open: the smell alone had me salivating! The potstickers are served with a gorgeous peanut sauce — creamy, thick, and SO flavourful, I was hooked! I found the meat to be a little underseasoned, but it just allowed the peanut sauce to shine. The ginger chicken had been mixed in with the glass noodles and the flavours were so well rounded — there wasn’t a bite that wasn’t coated in deliciousness! The chicken curry was definitely the star of the show, though — the sauce was a very thick gravy, so deliciously spiced and rich that I could have eaten a bucket of it! The chicken was tender and juicy, and the rice was perfectly sticky. Honestly, I can’t rave about this place enough! The food is truly outstanding, the staff are lovely, and the prices are unbelievably cheap! Not only this, but it’s healthy — they cook with coconut oil, don’t deep fry, and have gluten free options! Get yourself over there immediately — they have some off-menu specials that I’ve just GOT to try next time!

Amazing food! Great people. Always fresh and fantastic. My boys love the dumplings and I love the salad rolls and the veggie stir fry. This is one of West Kelowna’s hidden gems! 10⁄10!
