Expensive and not well cared for. Bought two partagas Lusitanias. Rings loose on both. Squeeze the ends to check hydration? They both cracked. Cut them and the top unraveled on both. Almost 100 bucks down the tubes just for these two. Taste? Dry and bitter. Not the usual Partagas. Very disappointed. Unfortunately I didn’t get to handle them till I got to the hotel. If they dry out that fast while in a plastic bag for only 2 hours something is seriously wrong. Sorry but I’d highly caution you not to buy from these guys even after thoroughly checking them out yourself first. UPDATE: the«manager» was notified about the cigars. His response was to hydrate the cigars(which were partially smoked), that we had brought back to the store, in a plastic bag for 2 hours and try to give them back to us to smoke. Yep. That was it. Almost $ 100 down the tubes. And they don’t care. Clearly he admits they were dry, that’s why he tried to hydrate them. Obviously these people don’t care about their customers. They don’t care about their business. They are a fraud. DONOTBUYFROMTHESEPEOPLE! They are CROOKS(all my opinion of course)!!

Visited Whistler in mid February 2015. Stopped by to pick up a cigar for the evening, ended up leaving with 20. Staff was super friendly, and extremely knowledgeable. I also shipped some of them back. No issues there whatsoever. Would highly recommend this place, and I will likely be a regular customer. Highly recommended for quality and service.

Whistler is a magical place, there is no doubt about it. Especially with magical little places like Castro’s Cuban cigar store. The staff are courteous friendly and knowledgeable, the ambience has a nostalgic class that is luxurious and cozy and their inventory is extensive. I travel to whistler frequently and when I do, Castros is always a planned stop, often, the first stop. Whether I want a fine cigar, a haircut or a shave with the master barber, or a transcendent massage from their gorgeous and skilled masseuse, Castros is a one stop shop for me. And you never know which famous celebrity you might see there, as they all stop in.

Probably the best cigar I ever smoked. The staff was very helpful. If you ask they will give you the empty cigar boxes which is quite the souvenir in the US. My Brother got a very nice wooden one just because he asked. The also suggested an excellent place to smoke. Bring you wallet though there are no $ 10 cigars here.

Contraband isn’t cheap. And when your home country has a trade embargo against a country that is almost as old as your parents, it can get damned expensive. But a friend of mine who enjoys cigars has a birthday in a matter of weeks and the opportunity to get him some fine Cuban cigars could not be missed. I got myself a few(they will be lost on me, to be honest) but smoking illegal stuff is always a ton of fun.
