The only good thing I will say abut this bar is the cocktail range. Our service was terrible. The server forgot our orders, we waited 20 minutes for a cocktail. Their excuse was that they were so busy, however the restaurant probably only has 15 tables max. Our bill was wrong, as they hadn’t added our second round of cocktails, she went to change it and then forgot about us. 20 minutes later, we got the bill. No machine was brought over, we walked to the till and paid. Never again. Very disappointed because we went there on a recommendation.

Worst service I’ve had in a while. We were seated on the patio for brunch on a Sunday. Waited for our table to be wiped down… never was. Waited for menus… had to get our own. Waited for our drink orders which took forever and when they finally came they were wrong. Had to ask for refills and for simple things like butter for my toast which one would think is a no brainer. The wait service just did not seem to care one bit. When we finally asked for our bill we noticed that prices on the bill were more than what was listed on the menu. When we brought this to our waiters attention all he said was«that’s interesting». He did wind up comping our drinks for the mistake but by then it was too little too late. Never once did anyone apologize for the poor, slow and incompetent service. I have to say the food on the other hand was pretty good. Unfortunately it was completely overshadowed by the rest of our experience. We will not be back

Large patio and pretty good place to do apres drinks. As for the food, I am not a big fan and think there are a lot better places in the village to eat. All of the servers there are very friendly but I have been there several times when they have been short staffed so I can understand where the other reviewers may have been upset/frustrated with the service. The atmosphere overall is pretty nice and it is a smaller venue then the other restaurants in the area which gives it more a lounge type feel inside. I definitely recommend checking it out for apres drinks or a cocktail before/after you go to dinner at one of the other restaurants in the area.

We decided on The Mix because it was the only place in the area that served alcohol before 11 and I am so glad we went there. Since returning from my trip to Whistler, the online menu has changed but needless to say, the food was amazing. I got the vegan hash which consisted of quinoa, mushrooms, potatoes, roasted garlic, tofu, and I added basil pesto. It was fantastic. Very flavorful and filling. My friend had ordered the Mix Caesar which came with a breakfast sandwich on top! It was amazing! Our server, Gordon, was young but attentive! Definitely a return visit for me!

We had written a review of our dining experience back in September. Someone from the restaurant sent us a message on Unilocal(after a month) in order to make it up to us. He told us that the manager would get in touch with us in order to get our mailing address to send us a gift card. After waiting for a week of not hearing from the manager who was supposed to contact us, we decided to just send our address to the guy himself. It has been over two months but we haven’t received a gift card. You would think that if they contacted us in order to make up for our horrible experience, they would do what they promised. We have lost a lot of respect for their management team as this is very unprofessional. We love the Whistler village and think that it’s sad that a restaurant in the heart of the village treats its patrons this way and get away with it.

Our concierge recommended Mix to us after we had already eaten at Elements for lunch. I was extremely pleased with the food at Mix! With the Unilocal reviews giving Elements a higher rating, I was surprised to find the food at Mix was more delicious. We had the Poutine, Lamb Chops, and Goat Cheese Salad. All three were so delicious! They ran out of the tuna when we came, which is supposed to be their specialty. I agree with the other Unilocal reviews — the service is spotty. It took a while to get our water, and refills had to be requested. But once we started raving about the delicious food, the service became more attentive. It would have been nice if the food was spaced out. There was such a long wait to get the food, then all 3 dishes came out at once. It barely fit on our bar seat. Serving sizes are huge! The Poutine was my favorite, very cheesy and full of flavor. The goat cheese salad was so delicious. Very fresh salad with perfectly seared goat cheese. Usually goat cheese is cold straight out of the fridge, but they served it at perfect room temperature and blended well with the salad. We arrived around 7:15 pm for dinner without reservations and stole the last open bar seat. Groups arrived after us and a few brave people sat outside under the heat lamps. Lots of people left since there was no seating. Definitely add this stop to try out some fresh delicious food!

Service was sloooooooow. Waited for a drink order. Waiting for the drinks. Waited for the plates to be cleared. Food was yummy and came quickly. Too many other places in Whistler to come back here.

A two star experience is based on how often you look quizzically at each other while dining. Five or more times? Meh. I’ve experienced better. I went here over the weekend for brunch. On a busy Sunday, with a table of seven, perhaps the ease of getting seated should have tipped us off. The food was ok. The coffee was drinkable. But the service was incredibly lackluster. This was the brunch of waiting. We ordered coffee. And we waited. We asked for refills. And waited. Our bill? 30 minutes. We waited. To his credit, I believe there were only two people serving in the restaurant so perhaps our server had more then he could handle. But overall, the service staff here just seems not to care. When I went in to find the washrooms, I was brushed past by one girl and actually made it past three other people and almost into the kitchen by accident before someone acknowledged me. I find a lot of places in Whistler can be hit or miss, especially during either one of the tourist seasons but this one was an all around pass. Our meals were pretty standard for brunch fare, so if desperate times call for it, i’d go back and eat. But next time around, I will seek out somewhere with better service.

Great location right on the Village boardwalk. Great music to chill by and watch the parade of skiers and bikers go by. Great food too! The service was lacking a bit, but we were in no hurry watching the people wander the Village.

Great food: foie gras poutine was fabulous, tuna was fresh, Mediterranean dip was great — although should have been served with more pita from the start and the chicken chili was the perfect combo of sweet and spice. The wine list was nice, although the first one we ordered was out and the second was not good — had been open much too long. Service was very touch and go — our first waiter was not good and was subbed out for a woman who’s attentive service saved this from being a two star review. That said, I’d go again for the food for sure!

Wine menu was dirty and disgusting. 2 of the items I ordered were not available so my third choice came out after my husband had finished his meal. A waiter was lighting candles and was goofing around and lit a business’s card on fire. Definitely would never go here again.

The GF and I went to The Mix for a relaxing evening and good food for a reasonable price. The mix was perfect for what we were looking for. The ambiance was relaxing with great music, not too quite and not too loud that we couldn’t have a conversation. The food was excellent and the service was friendly and attentive. I think the only complaint was the GF’s food was sent back to be heated up a little. Otherwise it was a prefect evening. I’ll definitely be back.

After having done an exhausting hike and feeling hungry for a good steak we decided to hit the Village and explore. Most of the options are either too fancy or too casual so when we found this place we were in for a pleasant surprise. The patio is prefect for a sunny day and lets you enjoy one of Whistler’s favourite sports also known as people watching! Our waiter was super friendly, gave us extra beers for free then made a mistake with our orders and through in an appetizer for free as well. She then invited us to go say hi to her at the bar that she was going to be working with a free cover and shots. Can you say Whistler is super friendly or what? I started off with a pomegranate mimosa which had blueberries floating in it and enough champagne to make me feel sleepy after a long day in the sun. Our free appetizer was the Calamari with nice asian spice twist and was the most memorable item of the meal. My filet mignon was done to perfection with a piece of bacon wrapped around it; however it wasn’t enough to blow me away. The side vegetables were just boiled with some seasoning added on top wich made for a healthy addition to the otherwise fatty meal. The meal plus appetizer left me with no room for solid dessert so I opted for an espresso shot. The small cup in form of a deep ladle put a smile on our faces and was the icing on the cake on a perfect summer night in Whistler.

I cannot speak to the quality of the food as we chose not to eat here. There were 2 dirty tables to choose from on the patio, so we popped inside and asked if one could be cleared for us. Not a problem. Back out on the patio, I fetched myself a menu from the servers station while we waited for our table to be bussed. The food menu was filthy… sticky on the outside and covered in fingerprints and spills on the menu pages. When we were sat, no additional menu was brought for my husband, so we asked for one and a drink menu as well. The drink menu made my food menu seem relatively pristine — half ripped stickers covering some items, water(maybe beer?) stained pages, something that may have been gum… Already thinking that maybe we should look elsewhere for lunch, I noticed that there was no wine on the drink list just as the server came to our table. I was informed that there was a separate(apparently well guarded) menu for wine, which she promptly brought to us. When I opened the wine menu the first page fell into my lap, apparently ripped from the binder and jammed hastily back in with no attempt to secure it. We left. If a restaurant can not be bothered to present itself well in the areas that the customer can see, I assume that the parts of the restaurant that are out of view(ie. the kitchen) are unkempt as well.

The food here was delicious! Ric had his own spin on his dishes. Things that I thought were going to be run of the mill were not. We ordered the ahi tuna, spicy chicken, lamb pops and salmon crostini.

We came here for lunch before heading back into Vancouver for Canada Day long weekend. IT was raining but warm enough that we wanted to sit on the patio. I should have known something was wrong when it took us to realize. we should seat ourselves(althought there was a sign saying to wait to be seated) then another 10 minutes before anyone came out to greet us and give us our menus. We looked over the menu and picked out the Kobe beef sliders, tuna poke and pound of mussels. Another 10 minutes went by and finally the waitress came to take our order. Waters came and the waiting continued. 15 minutes rolled by and the mussels came. Not bad with a creamy broth but I could have done with the oranges IN the broth. Citrus+cream…not a good combo. However, I will note it took another 10 minutes before I could start eating because the waitress(not ours) never gave us plates and walked off before I could ask for one. She looked like she hated life. Now my love isnt’ a fan of mussels and knowing he was hungry. I felt terrible when I was munching away while he was still waiting. 40 minutes of waiting to be exact!!! We couldn’t believe how long everything took! HOW hard is it to cut up some tuna and add it to a salad(which is exactly what the tuna poke was) and grilling up 3 little balls of meat patties for sliders? 40 minutes I guess. Service licked BALLS and I felt for what we ate. not worht the price. $ 57 for 2. If you like patio dining and waiting around for your food. then this is the place for you.

The goat cheese that was cold in my eggs benny made my egg cold. The spinach wasn’t even lightly sauteed. And the coffee was warm?! Augh! I don’t have much to say. Except where is the good food in Whistler? And I’m so tired of uninspired restaurants.

I was staying in the Crystal Lodge, and the Mix is theirs, so when we wanted brekkie before a day on the hill, we figured the short stop would be a good call — and boy-oh-boy it was! I’ve had brunch there twice now, and both times have been pretty darn happy. The first time, I ordered strictly from the side-orders! $ 5 for a mixed fruit plate that had generous helpings of pineapple, strawberries, oranges and melons, and $ 4 for a bowl of oatmeal with maple syrup– yum! Both were great for pre-skiing as I didn’t want to be sluggish from eggs and potatoes. The second day I had the vegetarian fritatta, and again — yum! The service was great and I was so impressed with the generous helping of fresh fruit(most places will give you A strawberry, and then fill the plate with melon because it’s cheap). The people I was with ran the gamut of the menu, and everyone had a smile on their face before we headed up for some serious snow-time. Breakfast at this place is a find!

Trendy Tapas found here! In the heart of Whistler Village this little tapas bar is a fun way to start the night. Calamari with Tzatziki sauce Kobe Meatballs(3 to a plate) Prosciutto wrapped Asparagus Some Guinness and a local brew and the table was brimming with goodness! Only one rant: food was not piping hot like I like it. Cool tunes, with hot to trot servers. $ 50.40 /for two.

I had such a bad experience at Ric’s… so why would I come to The Mix, you ask… well I bumped into a friend who wanted to check out the décor and atmosphere of the place and we were going to grab a drink so decided to stop in. The bar/lounge is located upstairs of the Crystal Lodge. and if you were going to the restaurant, you would walk inside along a corridor, down the stairs to the restaurant directly adjacent to the check in desk. This place is quite small, no more than 10 or so tables. Not going to lie, didn’t really like the countertops — the colouring made it look like old stone but then again, I’m no interior designer. I think that either the manager, or someone higher up ended up serving up and recommended the Goose me Up and the Aloe cocktails — they have won in cocktail competitions so I chose one, and my friend selected the other. The goose me up was a little sweet but very nice in flavours. The Aloe cocktail was strong, and you can definitely taste the Aloe — I really liked it. We ordered this tempura shrimp appetizer to share and it was super tasty. The shrimp were giant and the batter was hot and crispy, not overly covered. The dipping sauce was a great compliment. Our server always checked on us to make sure everything was okay and I was pleasantly surprised from my disappointing experience downstairs. I would even stay here for a full meal on another occasion if I could. Either the downstairs had a bad night, it’s owned by two different people… or they just do better work upstairs! I wouldn’t suggest large groups though… unless maybe you go early. We lucked out with the last table on Monday night for two.
