Came here with a group for a big event so I got to try a lot of the menu! Their food was solid but I’d definitely recommend the duck. Overall, nice ambiance and really cozy.

Went here based on the TripAdvisor rating and were not disappointed in the least. For the record, it’s #2 on TripAdvisor(March 2016) and in my humble opinion the food was significantly better than #1. Appetizer was the special — panko encrusted baked brie with mango chutney, field greens, and homemade crostini. Cauliflower soup(though without the blue cheese for me). Dinner was the Arctic char and my teenage daughter had the venison. This place is quite small and we had seats at the bar, which meant watching the cooking and prep as well. Staff were all incredibly friendly, as were the patrons. The couple next to us found the previous patron’s wallet on the floor and promptly returned it — cash and all. My daughter had initially not wanted any«fancy» dinners and was begging to go back. For those wondering — jeans are perfectly fine here; just don’t show up still wearing your smelly ski clothes!

Probably my new favorite nice dinner spot in Whistler. Sorry Araxi. It’s a small spot so definitely make reservations, yes the old style way, by calling. Their reservation book is a physical book with a pencil. If you can, sit at the bar; those chefs are amazing to watch — their timing and precision in cooking and plating was just really neat to watch. The short rib BRAISEDCHUCKFLATS were good — it was a little too saucy and dark flavored for me, but the PORKCHOP was incredible. I know not a lot of people ordered it but I really don’t know why because it was cooked perfectly and the sauce on top was incredible. I dream of that pork chop still. The BUFFALO was also really good and tender; a little gamey but good. Yes most people are ordering the CASSOULET or the BOUILLABAISSE so why not try those and heck, come back and try other things the next day! The DUCKCONFITSPRINGROLL appetizer is really good — totally stuffed with meat and amazing flavor and tenderness of the meat. It is fried so it is a little heavy. The desserts are kind of ok. CREMEBRULEE was good. A lot of people like the PEANUTBUTTERBOMBE, but it was too rich for me, but that might be because I’m not a huge peanut butter fan. I would go back and eat that pork chop every night if I could… It’s down in Creekside next to Nita Lake Lodge(1 or 2 buildings down). Bathroom is down the hall because I think it’s shared with the bar next door. Oh and if you need an excuse to head down to Creekside, get a RMT massage at Nita Lake Lodge spa and then walk over after. You won’t regret it.

My husband and I had dinner here last night. We had the calamari appetizer as well as the duck spring rolls. Both were absolutely fantastic. For dinner I had the steelhead fish and my husband had the duck. I would highly recommend the fish and my husband enjoyed his duck. Dinner was cooked to perfection, the service was great and the ambiance was delightful. I can’t wait to go back.

This was our second stop in and it didn’t disappoint. Service is top notch with really friendly staff that handle your meal and make it look effortless. I also really like the extensive wine list with a solid selection of BC wines to choose from. Oh, the food. It is consistently fantastic. We had the calamari(note it’s pan fried and not breaded) Which was fantastic and then the Bison — unbelievably good. It’s worth a stop and be sure to make a reservation during peak season. You can rarely get a table the same day.

Fantastic! Everything about this restaurant is fabulous. The food is outstanding and the service is exceptional… but I would recommend calling ahead for a reservation as the room is quite small and seems to be very busy.

Wonderful service, we had originally had reservations at the bar– but once I hurt myself and they saw I was on crutches they made arrangements for us at a table– wait staff was wonderful, steak was perfect, truffle fries were amazing, wine selection was perfect– great meal for the price!

I highly recommend a reservation, especially with a large group. This is a small space with bar facing an open kitchen includes a handful of tables and very cozy. This restaurant is not in the village, it is across the street and down a little ways tucked in the road behind the gas station, but worth the drive here. Our server Cory made our experience a five star. The food here is good, but our experience with Cory made this dinner memorable. There were six of us and we had reservations for Saturday evening. We were seated at a raised table overlooking the restaurant. Cory had great recommendations, took his time answering questions and explaining the menu. He also helped us pair some great wines as most of the wines they carry are from BC wineries we are unfamiliar with. He not only gave us great history of the restaurant but great history of the wineries as well. We ordered appetizers including the Atlantic scallops. Scallops were cooked melt-in-your mouth perfectly. The best appetizer on the menu in my opinion. We all ordered a different main dish including the fish that was on special. As per usual, we were the last to leave that night. The entire staff here is beyond welcoming and never made us feel rushed. Bathrooms are a little out of the way. You exit the restaurant into a shared hallway with a bar and go down the stairs.

Went here on out third night in Whistler. Was hands down THEBEST food and a great experience. Dave was our waiter and was great with both wine and food explanation and recommendations. This is an out of the way gem and so worth the trip. You absolutely need a reservation. I had the carpaccio, which is a favorite of mine and it might have been the best I ever had. Also had the duck egg rolls which had so much duck– I was amazed. My husband had the steelhead filet which was fantastic. We also split a mushroom app that was insanely good. Peanut butter something for dessert which was out of this world. Don’t think about it any more. You’ve got to go.

My favorite restaurant in whistler. The Chuck flats is heavenly. Best bouillabaisse as well. It’s also really fun to sit at the bar watching the chefs work their magic.

Came here while in Whistler and it was very good. We made reservations for 630. On arrival it was pretty full but we were seated inside by the corner, giving an excellent view of the kitchen. For appetizers I ordered the soup special which was awesome, it was loaded with flavor but the star of the dish was the bleu cheese. We also ordered the Duck Spring Rolls. They were outstanding. They had the perfect flavor and texture. For entrees I ordered the Pork Tenderloin. It was absolutely amazing. The plum sauce was extraordinary. It tasted almost like a dessert sauce. The potatoes underneath were amazing as well, thinly sliced they complemented the pork well. The pork itself was great. Juicy and full of flavor. I highly recommend it. My mom ordered the Stuffed Chicken Supreme. She enjoyed the dish. I tried a little bit and it was great. For dessert I ordered the Key Lime Semifredo, and my mom ordered the Peanut Butter Bombe. The Key lime was good as was the Peanut Butter Bombe. I highly recommend The Red Door Bistro, the food is great and the staff is friendly. 10⁄10. I will definitely be returning to the Red Door Bistro the next time I am in Whistler.

Based on the reviews here in Unilocal,I found my way to this GEM of bistros!!! It took awhile for me to find because they share an entrance with Roland’s Creekside Pub. Special shout out to Manager, Sarah Chapple my server, Dave & Chef Sean for OUTSTANDING service & hospitality. Since I was a solo diner, Sarah sat me at the bar overlooking the kitchen. What a TREAT!!! I got to witness the ‘magic’ that happened in the kitchen. There were so many BEAUTIFUL dishes coming out that made deciding on only one extremely difficult. Since I hadn’t had the wild salmon on this BC trip yet, I opted for this house specialty… Absolutely HEAVEN on a plate!!! Chef prepared it medium rare with a homemade tarter sauce TODIE for presented atop a bed of crab cakes that not only complimented the fish but could’ve been served as an entrée in & of itself!!! I felt like I got two dinners for one… YUMMMMM!!! While I was pleasantly STUFFED with my salmon, I just couldn’t resist the Peanut Butter Bombe dessert because the couple beside me had just polished one off. I overheard their conversation with Dave that it was an original creation of Chef Sean’s. For me to describe it would be sacrilege because I know I couldn’t do it justice… just know that it truly is the BOMB!!! My thanks to the staff of Red Door Bistro for making my stay in Whistler a WONDERFUL& tasty one :)

I am very happy that we chose this restaurant, although we only got the time spot on 5:00pm because it has been fully booked. The Calamari and Cod Croquettes are good, but the Seafood Bouillabaisse and red wine beef are simply wonderful! I hesitated in ordering one more bouillabaisse, but got my sense back on time. The crème brûlée is great too.

My wife and I decided to try The Red Door Bistro to see what all the hubbub was about after reading so many glowing reviews. The place is tucked away next to the Nita Lake Lodge. We came on a warm summer evening and were promptly seated on the patio. I ordered the steamed mussels and braised chuck flats and my wife ordered the duck confit springs rolls and bouillabaisse. The mussels were prepared very well in a white wine broth. Nicely seasoned and cooked perfectly. The braised beef was tender and delicious and came apart easily using just my fork! I only needed the knife to cut the fingerling potatoes smaller! And as good as my food was, the two items my wife ordered were even better. The duck spring rolls were incredible with fantastic flavours! I’ve had a lot of bouillabaisses and this had to be one of the best. The seafood was absolutely perfect. Tender and flavourful and not overcooked as some restaurants tend to do(I’m assuming to be conservative). The broth was sublime. I literally would go back for a bowl of just the broth and a big loaf of French bread to soak it all up. Service was very good as well. Our water was refilled regularly and our server was very attentive, checking in often to see how our food was or to offer to bring us additional drinks. Overall, it was a great meal! We wouldn’t hesitate to drive up to Whistler from Vancouver for the evening just to have dinner here!

A very beautiful place with romantic and relaxing ambience. The server was kind and friendly. The food was delicious. I particularly liked the veal as it was juicy and flavorful. The halibut was a bit overcooked which was disappointing. The steak was good as well. Disappointing that at an expensive restaurant that they do not serve bread as part of their meal, but it was freshly made and the 4 $ was worth it. I have to say that I am in love with their cranberry sauced duck confit spring rolls– really the star of the night besides the Whistler grapefruit beer. The salad was a sad bit as there was not much in it. I would recommend ordering a drink, the duck confit spring rolls, truffle fries and the veal. Other than that, nothing too impressive but I didn’t try their dessert. It is in a lovely village in Whistler and since we drove up from vancouver just to have dinner there I expected it to be stellar as it was rated number 2 in Whistler. I was a bit disappointed with our server as she ignored us for the first five min and didn’t take us directly to our table which she had put us outside to share with others. My group didn’t like sharing and preferred to be inside on our own and she just ignored us for a bit afterwards. The busboy was friendly and very responsive all night though. What made me a little«raised-eyebrows» was when one of my guests had called her over to tell her that the middle of the steak was still cold and my guest repeated it because that is just her personality, but not in a menacing way, just more in a young girl way. The waiter touched her softly on the wrist and said: I heard you the first time, Madame, and I will fix it for you ok. I don’t know– it didn’t sit too well with me when she said that. The tone was unkind. However, other than that she was a great waitress and attended to us during the night. I would recommend this place for a date or sitting out on the patio. However, I would not agree it is number 2 in Whistler.

Everything was delicious and the service was very friendly and professional. I’ll be back!

Fantastic food and experience! We were trying to go to Rim Rock but was sold out for NYE and this was a place someone recommended. WOW! Menu is limited and every dish was meticulous in presentation and excellent in taste. If you like food tv network, ask to sit at the bar and watch the chefs do their magic show.

We’ve visited Whistler every year for the past 9 years. This is our first visit to Red Door(and I admit to being under the influence)…it…is… Amazing… This is simply one of the best places we’ve dined in Whistler. From Carla at the front desk to our waiter Dave, terrific dining experience, we’ll be back.

A part of me doesn’t want to review this place because it was truly a «hidden gem» in Whistler. It’s tucked away from Whistler Village so we had to drive to get there but it was well worth the effort. But I guess I won’t be selfish. The bf and I went on a Wednesday evening and the other customers seemed to be either locals or Unilocal foodies like ourselves. The service was attentive and he gave good recommendations. One thing I liked about The Red Door Bistro was that there was a lot of local or Canadian sourced foods and wines. Since the bistro is connected to a bar, they can happily recommend and retrieve beer there as well. So we shared the crab cakes and as many other reviewers mentioned, they were yummy. Crispy on the outside and tender on the inside with lots of crab! I got the duck and the bf got the elk-both were cooked to perfection and our BC wines accompanied these dishes well too. Seriously, the price cannot be beat for the food and experience at this place. I was super glad to get away from the traffic in Whistler Village and to enjoy great food and wine for a spectacular price. I cannot recommend this place enough for other Unilocal foodies heading to Whistler.
