We came here on a Saturday. I highly recommend making a reservation on weekends. I was not very satisfied with the place. My first star goes to the nice bartender who kindly and in a timely manner accommodated us although we were early for our reservation, and they had no available table when we got there. The second star goes to the creative menu with varied vegetarian options, and the last goes to their décor [especially the cassette wall]. Dishes look amazing, but they don’t taste as good as they look. I got the PBLT, which was dry and had the maximum of 10 thin trenches of pork belly on it. One of my friends ordered the salad which was supposed to come with avocado, but the avocado was missing. My other friend who is a [temporary]-vegetarian was not happy with her salad either, but she’s been unhappy with all her meals ever since she’s become a vegetarian, so I’m not basing my judgment on her. Service was slow, beer was not cold. But to be fair, I think they were just having a bad night. Because there’s no other way to explain all the hype about this place on Unilocal. So I guess I’m gonna have to go back another time, because I’m such a big Unilocal-believer.

Amazing food, service, price, and craft beer. What else is there? Had the taco appetizer and it was amazing. Tremendous value for the price.

This was my first time here and I thought it was excellent. The craft beers were plentiful enough(10 or so on tap). If you’re looking for generic, mega-brewery beers, they don’t have any(Thankyou!!) I ordered the Muther Clucker sandwich(a bbqd chicken thigh with a fried egg.) It was flavourful and the bun, fresh. Also ordered the Brussels sprouts which were shredded with a small kick of heat. Creative dish. We were a little delayed in our initial service, but it was explained that a waitress called in and they were struggling to staff-up. After they reacted, service was good. I will return as the beef cheeks intrigue me! On the negative side, we did call for reservations(it was a Sat nite after all) and were told that they didn’t take them but if we called 20 min. ahead they’d have a table ready. We took our chances and didn’t call ahead. When we arrived, we were told«there’s a party here tonight.» Ok. THENSAYTHATWHENWECALLED! That is all.

Visiting on a Friday afternoon for lunch. We have wanted to visit this place for a while. We sat at the bar. We sat down and were acknowledge by the bartender. There were 3 other couple sitting at the bar. It took us at least 10 probably 15 minutes for her to come over to even take our drink order. I realize it’s lunch and its a tad busy but that’s just unacceptable. They had a price fixed menu with . I ordered off the price fixed menu and my wife ordered from the regular menu. She ordered the purple stuffed potatoes and avocado hush puppies both were average. I had the empanadas which were decent and I had the general Taos boa which was excellent. Very tasty. Had a few pints of their great draft list of beers The service overall was just horrible. One of the worst. Like I said I realize its busy so I definitely take that into consideration. Wife’s food was finished before I even received my main without her even her letting us know that it would be out shortly. We have to ask after she was finished eating if mine was coming out(like I said sandwich was delicious). We had to sit for another 10 minutes waiting to pay and the polite gentleman beside us waited at least 20. There is just no excuse for that kind of service. She was a nice girl too but just too incompetent. It’s real disappointing cause we were both really looking forward to trying snack bar-bbq and we definitely will not be back Only the second time ever that I’ve left a poor tip in my life. Felt bad about the poor tip but the overall experience was just brutal.

My favourite thing here that I’ve had so far was probably the beef Bao sandwiches. The steamed bun was very soft and fluffy, just like it should be. It almost melts in your mouth. I also had the cauliflower buffalo wings — be warned its cauliflower and not chicken wings! However they were expertly spiced and they tasted just like chicken wings should. I also recommend the fried green tomatoes :)

AMAZING!!! We did our best to try everything on the menu and everything was so delicious! The creative use of Asian ingredients was pure genius. If you love Barbecue and want something with a twist, this is a must!

This is hands down my new favourite restaurant in Windsor. The décor is on point. The wait staff is friendly and helpful. The food presentation is excellent. Now let’s get to the food itself. I’ve been here a few times now and have yet to try anything that was mediocre. Loved it all. The meat and potato bag was a hit with the kids and grownups alike. The buffalo cauliflower wings are my new favourite food item. How have these not been in my life before?! The porknado burger is everything you expect a bacon burger to be. The corn bread pancakes had way more flavour than I was expecting. I was on the fence about the s’mores sandwich for dessert. A s’more on a burger bun? Sounds weird. To my surprise it works! Mixed drinks have a lot of thought and attention to detail put into them too.

This place is a gem. Lots of fun creations on the menu. Funky décor. Great drink selections. World class service. For you germaphobes, who are averse to the classic BBQ bottle sharing régime, the staff here cleans the bottles off between customers. I don’t think I have encountered more friendly, charming and diligent staff at one venue before. Both times they let us operate the TV and put on whatever we wanted, treated us to a compelling conversation and did everything right. Service is OUTOFCONTROL. Get it together SnackBar-B-Q, you’re too cool.

I honestly have nothing negative to say about this place. The atmosphere and staff are amazing. The food is absolutely delicious. It’s rare that we order 3 – 4 different menu items and love all of them equally. This place does it right. If I could give it 6 stars, I would. I highly recommend the«Mother Clucker»

The food was fantastic. I went out for dinner with my girl friend on a Monday night looking for a small meal and thought that snack BBQ sounded like a fit. We ordered 3 small plates and two sides to share as the prices we on the low side and we figured the portions were small. It was more than enough. The ribs fell of the bone. The tacos were amazing. All the sauces were great. Our server was very friendly and made excellent recommendations. I am definitely going back.

A place you would want to visit again. The menu is simple but feature key BBQ offerings. It even offers something for the vegetarians. Bartender mention all meats are smoked with Apple woods which smells great for the outside. They do have their own sauces which the staff recommends you try them all. The bar is stocked and features local craft beer.

I went here with a friend and was pretty let down, which, I should disclose, may be partially my fault. I generally end up paying for it when I’m really excited to try a new place in Windsor,(AKA«The Sarai Factor»). I’ll start with the best part of my experience. The fried green tomatoes were pretty damn good. Having had this dish all over the US, I always wondered why something so simple was nearly impossible to find north of the border. They did a pretty good job, and I liked the«Alabama White» sauce all over it,(not the most creative name). For my main I had the burger they’ve been hanging their hat on, the Porknado. And I was extremely disappointed. I think the Porknado was born out of the bacon fad that’s been happening the last few years, which is something I never understood. Bacon doesn’t automatically make something good. I’d have thought that a patty made out of all bacon would be pouring with fat and juice, and I could not have been more wrong. It was charred and bone-dry, all the fat was lost on what I can only assume was a grill. The dryness was accentuated by the lack of sauce. I understand there are housemade sauces on the table,(more on that below), but the menu told me there was a charred pineapple mayonnaise on top. I didn’t see, taste, or otherwise sense any kind of sauce anywhere on it. I love housemade sauces and restaurants that make them. I tried all options here and aside from the vinegar-mustard and Alabama White, they all taste the same. They each have the same base tang which wasn’t anything to write home about. I will applaud their hot sauce, though, which is hotter than most house hot sauces. I liked the Alabama White, too, but that’s just because I love straight mayonnaise, and there isn’t much of a difference between the two. The service was OK but had the hallmarks of a restaurant still trying to figure it out. We waited ~30 minutes for our appetizer, then the burger came less than five minutes after we finished that. I’d much prefer to have it the other way around. Additionally, our waitress Hollie, who was very nice, was apologizing to tables around us for food taking so long. They have a lot of servers for a small restaurant, I’m confident they’ll work the pacing out. Someone commented below that if this place was in Corktown, there would be a swarm of reviews already. Perhaps. There definitely is more of a food culture in Detroit. But, try the housemade sauces alone at Red Smoke or even Slow’s and tell me they’re comparable. The food culture exists in Windsor, or rather the demand for it is there. The supply is low.

Exciting new restaurant on the increasingly vacant Chatham St in downtown Windsor. We went on a weeknight and the restaurant was a healthy level of busy. The menu alone tugs at my foodie heart strings with such dishes as the Redneck Tacos(pulled pork, cornmeal patty, avocado). The menu offers a fresh take on traditional BBQ. Everything we tried was fantastic. Having a big selection of craft beer both on draught and bottled is not always a given in Windsor but they do a great job here. Does Windsor even do Unilocal?I feel like if Snackbar BQ had opened in Corktown there would already be about 200 reviews and an overall 4* rating. Check it out, eh?!
