Do you have careful friends? Those friends who keep their tables spotlessly clean? Those friends who gently closes their laptops before putting it in their bags? Oh and wipes it before putting it back in the laptop bag? That kind of careful friend? Yup, this place is like that friend. The food is carefully made, the tables spotlessly cleaned and immaculately arranged, the walls are white, everything’s white. So white that I feel a little cold. But why 4 stars? Because the food is special. Soufflé’s are very rare around these parts and the care the chef puts into the food? Also rare. The chef enjoys his art and you can certainly see that on the plate. Coffee was nice and the service was quick and attentive. I’d come back for more, but this time with a thicker T-shirt.

It’s the first day of 2016, and we wanted to have a relaxing breakfast or brunch at a place we’ve never been. Finding the location of the café is easy, but the signboard was too high up that you might miss it if you don’t look up. Once walked in, they greeted us with smiles and happy faces, so that’s a plus. The place looks bare, I guess they wanted things to be minimal because the kinfollk-like menu design reflects the interior. Perhaps some minimal art print and a wall or two of pastel colored walls would make the place more ‘warm’. I ordered a vanilla soufflé with orange sauce and grapefruit sorbet. The soufflé was delicious, crusty on the outside and pillowy soft on the inside. I find it sweet enough to eat it without the orange sauce. The grapefruit sorbet was a nice touch as it balance out the sweetness of the soufflé. The only thing I don’t understand is that they don’t serve tea. It’s a pity since tea goes really well with desserts. They only serve milk tea and coffee. Please please, add a selection of tea in your menu and that would be perfect!

It’s really difficult to find soufflés in KL, let alone one that strikes the sweet spot of height, «airiness,» and taste; yet that is exactly what Wild Sheep Chase excels in, and surprisingly does so consistently despite the technically difficulties of executing this dish. The soufflés are consistently bursting in height, lightly sweetened by the powdered sugar with a hint of crust that adds additional texture. Accompanying this is the delicate osmanthus-maple or orange infused-syrup, and for a unique twist, the bitting grapefruit sorbet. The last bit was very divisive on the table, with some almost wanting to lick the sorbet off the plate, while others like myself shunning the bitterness for more soufflé instead(I came for dessert after all!) Regardless, this is a masterpiece at a mere price of RM15. Definitely coming back for more! Another really cool twist is their early grey milk tea. First you smell the strong scent of the orange bits and orange syrup on top, followed by the smooth creaminess of the milk, and then followed by the slight punchiness of the earl grey. Neither too sweet, nor too creamy, nor losing in the earl grey flavor, this was another winner in my book. This café is really a masterclass in balance and restraint so far. Oh also, as of a week ago there’s no GST or service charge! Prices are in easy round numbers. Lovely when splitting the bill. ps. The first thought that hit my group is just how unoptimized the place is in seating people, but I guess maybe that’s part of the charm of the café — its haphazardly placed tables, the lack of a sign downstairs amidst some pretty run-down shop lots, contrasted by some of the most disciplined and delightful baking I’ve had in KL in awhile

Beautifully clean and modern aesthetic, yummy souffles, and decent coffee and tea. Not too many tables, do the place looks airy and bright. A lovely place to while away a few hours with friends.

A new café which was opened less than a month ago. The place has a modern clean look, nice vibe and ample natural lighting during the day, which is a plus for people who like to Instagram as natural light is the best for taking photos. Staff are friendly, fast and efficient which is a plus. Since the place is newly launched, they only have a soft launch menu which includes 3 types of dessert, 2 types of sandwiches and 3 types of drinks in either hot or cold. Price range for dessert is about RM13 to RM20 if I remember correctly whereas the sandwiches cost RM20 and RM22. Other than that, the hot drinks costs around RM10 whereas the cold variation costs around RM3 to RM5 more expensive. The soufflé(RM13), waffles(around RM15 if I’m not mistaken) and earl grey milk tea(RM10 as I had the hot variation) is a must try. Only downside is the fact that they lack tables and they have no signboard so you might have troubles finding the place. But bear in mind, the place is not even a month old. Overall, I really lIke the look and ambience of the café. Will definitely come back when they introduce more items in the menu. Disclaimer: The prices and menu items are roughly around there as my memory is failing me. :P
