This ramen place is not as famous as others like Ippudo and Menya Musashi. Surprisingly, there are quite a lot of customers coming in. The soup is thick and rich but I don’t fancy the flavour much. The noodles are too chewy and not to my liking. However, the chashu here is really good. Not too fat but just right. The egg here is also something that I liked. If you don’t fancy pork, they have chicken based ramen.

Ramen was pretty delicious. Very good actually. I prefer a different textured noodle but that’s a very subjective thing. Service was quick. Prices reasonable(in the ramen world). Eating this ramen brought me back to the short time I spent holidaying in Japan.

Before this I wasn’t really a fan of ramen but after trying the ramen here I change my mind. Perhaps it was the broth but the ramen here was unlike any ramen I’ve tried previously. I ordered the Bari-uma since it looked like the simplest one or to be more exact, the most basic one. When my Ramen arrived I was pleasantly surprised. The broth was rich and delicious and the noodles were springy and you can clearly tell the noodles are homemade and the Chashu In it was delicious. I got the Gyoza as well and it was delicious as well. The restaurant is in Jaya Shopping centre, so there’s the typical shopping mall parking with the standard rates. The restaurant is decorated in a simple Japanese theme that makes the experience more authentic. The service here is fast and the staff is very polite. The price is very reasonable for high quality food.

Many of you may not be familiar with Jaya Shopping Centre, with it recently rebuilt and opened last year. If you are then you may have heard of Bari-Uma. Hailing from Hiroshima, Japan, their aim is to let customers enjoy their authentic taste of Ramen. As far as authenticity goes, I have no idea but it is one delicious bowl of ramen. All the ramen noodles at Bari-Uma are freshly made in house. I normally order the Ajitama Uma Ramen, described as pork flavored shoyu soup«Ajitama» with thick-cut flamed chashu. Ajitama actually means the flavored egg and if you do not want the egg, you can order the Bari-Uma which looks the same to me but without the egg. Another thing to note about Bari-Uma ramen is that you can order the small sized ramen and reduce the price by RM3, perfect for small eaters. The noodles are springy while the soup is savoury and creamy. As for the chashu, it is succulent and only moderately fat. A perfect meal for a rainy day. If you’re looking for something with a bit more kick, you can try ordering the Kara Uma; basically the same ingredients but with a spicy broth. What’s great is that you can add individual toppings like corn or seaweed if you like for a small price. As far as ramen restaurants go, Bari-Uma price range are pretty standard with a normal bowl of ramen costing RM26.
