I haven’t eaten here yet, but it’s beautiful and has live music nightly. I keep ending here with a glass of the only decent wine I could find in Cabo. The staff is excellent! Shout out to Jorge and Gilmar in the sushi bar! They’re so friendly and fun, and we look forward to stopping by daily on our trip for a nightcap.

Excellent food and service. Twice I have gone to Cabo, both times during the Thanksgiving holiday. I’ve had their Thanksgiving dinner, both years have had a slightly different menu but the food is absolutely delicious! They treat you like royalty at this restaurant.

What a delightful little restaurant. My husband and I try not to «repeat» restaurants as much as we can; but after trying this place out for lunch on our first day, we just couldn’t help but go back. So much so, that the staff knew us and our order(s) well! We actually ended up dining here every day we were staying at Casa Dorada… some times stopping in multiple times(lunch, snack, and/or dinner). Most days we ate here for lunch, which was my favorite. They have the most amazing fish tacos, which are WAY better than any of the other options we tried based on high Unilocal reviews and/or recommendations from others. They just blew all the others out of the water. The fish was so fresh, the portions were extremely generous(3 huge tacos that we split between the two of us, and at $ 6 were quite the steal!!), and flavor was wonderful. Not to mention the tacos come with a huge side of toppings(including their pico and guac, which was some of — if not THE — best we tried in Cabo). We also really enjoyed their tuna tostadas, guacamole/ceviche, and coconut shrimp, which we often would stop in for after showering for a quick HH/snack hour. We also dined here one of the evenings — we didn’t do their steak/lobster deal(3 course meal with wine pairings)…instead we opted to go a la carte, since we felt more like having sea food. It was such an intimate, quite, romantic dining experience with such amazing views. Definitely try out 12 Tribes, even if you don’t stay at Casa Dorada! You won’t be disappointed :)

Wife and I stumbled upon 12 tribes and was pleasantly surprised. You really can’t beat the view and other than being next to Mango Deck, it has a great atmosphere. I got smoked tomato soup and then the arranchero and my wife got the Mexican platter. Did a misterio Malbec and it all was fantastic. Relatively reasonable prices too. I feel like you get more than you pay for here.

The hubs and I ate here several times during our stay at casa dorada for both lunch and dinner. The views and food were amazing. We had great service from both Cesar and Antonio and at a very reasonable price. Highly recommend!

What can you say about an almost free meal… this was our choice between a free one hour massage or dinner for two. Since the massage was only for one person we went for the dinner. In hindsight it was a poor choice on our part. 12 Tribes is your quintessential hotel restaurant(I know I managed one before). But this is Cabo so my expectations were higher. This place has a set menu for each night of the week and Wednesday is Fajita Night! I love fajitas!!! Unfortunately these fajitas reminded me of those frozen ready fajita meals you can get at the grocery store, stir it up and eat. Sadly the fajitas served in Mexican restaurants in America are far superior to this sad attempt. They were served with freshly made flour tortillas, the highlight of the meal. Now to the service. We were greeted properly and sat by the hostess. It took longer than normal for a server to address us but the view of the bay at sunset was captivating so we did not give it much thought and most of the tables were occupied. After the server came to meet us he explained how our free dinner voucher worked and that it does not include tax, tip or drinks. Ok no worries the price listed was $ 29/USD per person and we don’t drink drink. We were given a selection of breads and two microscopic, frozen, flower shaped butter pats for six rolls. We were then brought our dinner salads, no complaints there. Then we waited close to an hour to actually receive the main course! At 45 minutes we flagged our server who has not been back to our table since bringing the salads and asked for an update. He said, soon. This was horrible that we sat there staring at our glasses of water picking at the bread rolls else I would have started eating the table cloth. So first I know this must be a kitchen problem for such a huge gap in the flow of courses from the kitchen. It reminded me of some of the episodes of Hells Kitchen where the teams don’t have their act together. My experience in the industry would normally allow me to be more understanding but with NO communication from the wait staff or manager, if there was one gets them this negative review. Oddly, we ordered no alcohol during this meal yet the server brought us a FREE dessert drink. We asked if it had alcohol, he said yes, we said we don’t drink. Um. If I was the manager worried about my food and Bev cost this was clearly a waste. All he would needed to have done was ask or let us know there was a final surprise. Instead it sat wasted on our table. He then came to explain the bills, one for our drinks, two bottles of water and one diet Pepsi for $ 8.50USD. The other check was to show us that the tax was $ 4.70(16%) and where I could write in my tip. I did leave him one but not as much as it would have been had the service and food been WAY better. My recommendation to 12 Tribes is cancel the fajitas night!!!
