Small space but this place has tons to offer! I love the ambiance. The staff/servers are very friendly. My kids and I went here on our last night in Cancun. It was actually about to be scratched from our plans and I’m glad we didn’t. We loved everything we had. A must when you are in Zona Hotelera.

This is the best place around. Awesome service and WiFi available. I ordered the Cancun Shrimp tacos and a side of Guac with chips, very juicy fresh shrimp. Good prices, paid $ 15

Best shrimp and fish tacos near the hotel area. Order the bacon wrapped shrimp tacos and the hurricane fish tacos. You really can’t go wrong with anything on the menu

So, we walked to this restaurant because its very close to marriot! We ordered the margaritas for $ 8,which was a bit steep but there was a picture of a large hurricane cup next to the advertisement and it said«mexican size» so we decided to give it a try. Least to say, it was not the glass shown, but a much smaller cup… disappointing. also, once we got the margaritas, the salt was bitter and tasted funny and the drink was rather weak. Also tried a mojito and it tasted like a glass of straight mont and had an enormous amount of mint in the drink as well which ruined the flavor. With these two cocktails being a failure in my book, i dont recommend the alcoholic drinks here. I tried the green chili pork taco that other reviews said were amazing, but it was so so at best. Overall recommendation — avoid this place and seek dinner elsewhere

Good food and drinks but there seems to be a problem in the communication gap of who ordered what. Confusing when people order the same thing at a big table that seats different parties next to each other. Still– I’ll go back!

The food here is not authentic Mexican fare, but we knew that coming into this place. The food was excellent. Ate here two times on our trip just to come back and try other tacos that I was too full to eat during the first visit. Everything we ordered was delicious. The atmosphere was great, laid back feel. The service was prompt and friendly. Definitely would recommend this to friends.

You must try the Cancun Shrimp Taco!!! This taco is amazing and I know in the coming weeks that I am going to be craving one! I also tried the spicy shrimp taco, good but the Cancun was WOW! Drinks were a little pricey for a little hole in the wall and it was easy to rack up a bill if you are drinking. But really reasonable for a taco and a cold one! Also the tacos are huge, so eat one before ordering a second.

This place was amazing. Very small so we went around 5 to get a seat. My boyfriend had the chicken taco and I had the hurricane and both were excellent. We also shared their homemade guacamole and chips. To die for. Highly recommend! And not too pricey!

Prices: not great! Our menu was in English/dollars, not sure if they are more expensive? Our tacos ranged from USD $ 7 — $ 10, which is pretty pricey for one taco, esp compared to many of the other places around here! Food: was definitely good, and portions were big enough — but one taco wasn’t enough for both of us, so we needed to each get 2. The fish taco was fried fish which covered a lot of the taste, but it did have a nice cabbage slaw on it. Location: Close to Aquaworld(5 – 10 min walk), good stop for lunch or dinner on the way. Outdoor seating with some fans, so it can get hot and crowded! Definitely more of a spring break vibe — we didn’t get drinks but looked like they had an extensive drink menu! 3 stars because of the price for value.

Great Mexican food, drinks, and atmosphere. Pretty women, talkative men, and thick margaritas. I would definently recommend the chicken fajitas.

After a jungle boat tour, we were starving and wanted some authentic tacos after days of the good but non-mexican food at our resort. Blue gecko was a perfect hole in the wall lunch place. The tacos are huge, two will definitely fill you up. I would recommend any type of shrimp taco, we loved grabbing lunch there and if we lived in Cancun, it would be a regular spot.

Good food and drink but the wait was too damn long. I believe we waited close to two hours just to get our food which is ridiculous. Yes, we were a large group of nine but the place wasn’t that busy. They are known for their tacos which I admit were very good. I got the garlic shrimp which was big enough to fill me up. I could have gotten one more but then I’d be way too full. The atmosphere of this place is great and the drinks are very good. My friend got the mojito in a yard cup and he enjoyed it very much. I got a Piña colada and while it was good, I had better before. Definitely worth a stop, but the wait time was just something I couldn’t get over. But I only took off a star for that.

Classic outdoor cantina located in the middle of the hotel district here in Cancun. It is a small funky place and you have to keep your eyes peeled to find it. But well worth it if you get in sometime during the early afternoon. Cold beer, great shots of tequila, and lots of atmosphere. I got a taco pastor and a serving of Jalapeño Poppers for lunch, along with some Dos Equis and a shot of Herradura tequila. Ahhhhh life is good. Place gets kind of crowded during the evening hours so a seat would be hard to get. Afternoon is the best time. Service also tapers off a bit after dark, the ladies can only do so much.

Came here with friends on a Wednesday night. It was a bit of a wait but the prices are awesome! I had the Sea bass taco and a Blue martini. The prices are great and the food is very fresh. The mixed drinks are voondeebA. Emilia was our waitress and she did a wonderful job with the language barriers and has a great attitude. It’s an outdoor bar type restaurant, very casual and inviting. Wish we’d found it sooner in our stay in Cancun. If you’re Very hungry order 2 taco’s. One is satiating, 2 would be «relax and kick back» filling. 2 tacos, a mixed drink and 2 beers were $ 20. Pretty good price for excellent food, service and well made libations. Would return in a red hot minute. :)

Best tacos I’ve had in Mexico. Affordable Tender juicy meat Packed with veggies Corn tortillas(way better than the flour bs) HUGE portions. Come here for a quick bite if you want authentic Mexican tacos… And they are famous for their frozen drinks. Grab and go! No indoor seating so don’t have to get all fancy to eat here. They have seating under this hut looking thing.

This quant taco stand is really one of the shining stars of the hotel zone. It is a laid back, semi outdoor space that is very chill. I have eaten here several times and the food is consistent. The fish taco has a nice hot sauce to it and really is a must have. If you are in this area and don’t spend the time trying this item, you really have done yourself a disservice. Liqour and beer are served at this stand and they have WiFi. This is a good place to have a quiet lunch or have a laid back fast dinner and drinks with a group. This is not fancy food. It is good food.

Within walking distance of JW Marriott and had high reviews on Unilocal. Not authentic Mex but Tex-Mex and they’re not shy about it. Catered towards Western tastes and owned by a Texan. Came here on two different occasions because of the food and the cheap prices. Ordered Shrimp Nachos(great, lots of food, enough for sharing, couldn’t eat half of it between two people), Smoke Chile Butter Shrimp Taco, Fiery Fish Taco, Texas Brisket Taco, Arrechera Steak Taco. All of them were flavorful, very filling and very inexpensive. Two thumbs up for this cozy little spot!

Taco bar on the road next to Manta Diver’s, same owner I have been told. The fiery fish taco is excellent, quite spicy and flavorful. Nice place for a quick snack

If you want authentic tacos from Mexico, then this isn’t your joint. Good corner joint close to our Marriott CasaMagna hotel(about 7 minutes walk). We started off with chips and salsa and they were TERRIBLE! It tasted like tostito chips and canned salsa. Whatever you do, do not order chips and salsa from this place! For dinner there were so many tacos on the menu that looked delicious so my husband and I ordered four tacos: 1.) Garlic shrimp taco 2.) Texas brisket taco 3.) Arrachera steak taco 4.) Hurricane fish taco Despite the appalling chips and salsa, the tacos were all VERY tasty and the size of the tacos were huge! The taco tortilla was different(I think fried)…but really good! We had the chance to speak with the gringo owner of Blue Gecko and he turned us off. He asked us where else we had eaten and said every other place in the hotel district and I quote«sucked.» He thought his shii, I mean tacos don’t stink and that his little hole in the wall was the best in town! His demeanor and ignorance was kind of annoying and made us leave with a bad after taste. Overall good(not great), cheap tacos with TERRIBLE chips and salsa and a sour owner.

Refreshingly cute little bar in the Hotel Zone. There is a bus stop right next to it so you can hop on and off easily. Our server was really friendly and sweet and made some bomb mango mojitos. I got the buffalo chicken taco and my friend got the roasted chicken. The guac was pretty simple because it was just mashed avocado with a side of salsa. More than the food, we were enjoying the cool breeze, the funny signs and the iguana which decided to photobomb our selfies!

Our server/bartender was awesome. We were the first customers of the day. They open at 9am which was perfect for us who are always hungry. We came straight from the beach with only our bikinis on and didnt want to go back to our hotel room to get a shirt — no problem! Other places would turn you away. It’s a little hut/shack across the street from Grand Oasis, Fiesta Americana and Omni Hotel. They have bar seating and the atmosphere is very laidback. We got so much food and drinks and it wasn’t expensive. Price range was anywhere from 60 – 90 pesos. Everything we got was delicious: appetizer sampler, Spicy Garlic Shrimp Taco, Texas Taco, Hurricane Fish Taco, and Chips and Shrimp Guacamole. We had mojitos and Strawberry Banana Daquiri to wash everything down. The portions were pretty generous. The chicken wings were tiny(probably because they don’t use antibiotics and steroids on their chicken). I could hardly roll my taco because the meat/fish + dressings were a lot. I wanted to try every single taco on the menu but we were already full. Atmosphere, service, location, food and price were excellent.
