I’m surprised this restaurant was not rated higher. The place is beautiful and clean. Service was attentive, versed in English and accomadating, an unusual feature in Cancun. It was our last night, so we splurged our pesos and had the whole lobster broiled with butter and Garlic. The waiter picked it from the tank for us. The cold seafood appetizer was standard, but tasty. Our lobsters were the star. Will definitely come back.

This place was absolutely amazing. We had the lobster crêpe as an appetizer and it was probably the most delicious dish I’ve had in a while. Our dinners did not disappoint. The lobster we got was cooked and seasoned perfectly. My boyfriend was over the moon. We finished our meal with key lime pie(our favorite dessert) and cannot stop talking about it. On top of the delicious food, the staff and service we received was great. Overall this place is great and definitely worth a trip.

I’ll start with the good: the staff was friendly and the ambiance was great. If you ask for a table outside, you get to eat your dinner watching the sun set over the ocean with downtown Cancun in the background; it’s really fantastic. However, the food simply didn’t impress me. Most of what we ordered was mediocre, and all the lobster was simply bad(even the lobster in the soup was dry!). For the prices they charge, I expected each dish to be excellent, and most were no better than fine. Furthermore, when we received our dishes, three of the six had been prepared incorrectly(wrong sauce, wrong side, and one wrong dish). The manager was very kind and offered to fix them in any way he could, but between the mix-ups with our orders and the food not being very good, I wouldn’t recommend coming to Lorenzillo’s.

I have never had a bad lobster. Decided to take my fiancé who’s an executive chef here for his birthday dinner while in cancun and we were very let down. First we got seated very quickly and didn’t have a reservation. Was kinda inpressed– then we sat. ordered drinks off the top of our heads after asking if there was a drink menu. Our waiter was ok. The assistant of the waiter rushed us. Every 2 minutes he was at the table moving plates, adjusting the butter and bread and asking if we were done before we were– the appetizer was great! Had the stone crab claws. Then comes the entrée um umm no. The lobster was hammered to death. Had no flavor and was chewy. My shrimp tasted like they came from the lagoon. Awful flavor. I ate one and gave on to my fiancé who spit it out saying, that’s not right. He then tasted his lobster. He chewed the first bit numerous times and put salt and pepper to see if that would help. NOPE. Sent back to the kitchen. Something he never does because he knows how it looks when food goes back. There’s much more to add but I’ll leave it out… I would not recommend this place.

This restaurant is beautiful as it sits on the pier. As you walk in, there’s cases displaying the fresh seafood. Now the service here is outstanding. Most of the food was very delicious. My gripes were the pricing… I know it’s a tourist zone but if you’re going to charge me those prices, better give me some bomb ass food. May be I’m just angry I spend $ 45 on a lobster tail and it was dry and flavorless? So it’s hard for me to recommend this place as there’s better choices around.

For a classier restaurant in Mexico this definitely does the trick. And it sure brings in quite a crowd because the restaurant was filled when we were there. It sits right on the lagoon across from the Gran Caribe & Grand Park Royal hotels in the hotel zone. Outdoor seating looked beautiful, so I’d recommend that at sunset. Waiters are so friendly and attentive here, so two stars for that. They also serve bottled Fiji water and that sold me! Major plus for me They have a huge selection of fish and meat choices, and some soups and chowders. I tried the French onion, it was typical and just like I’d hoped it would taste. I thought their food was great, and it was a really relieving break from our hotel’s food. I got the Filet Mignon with spinach purée and a baked potato. No complaints, it was a great cut, cooked like I requested, tasted delicious and one of the few meals of the trip that I was able to eat without feeling sick. Only con is that it is a pricey restaurant if you’re on a budget, so if you’re not satisfied, it’s a big hit to your wallet to spend $ 35 – 40 on one of their meals. My plate was $ 38 and I feel I could’ve gotten that quality elsewhere for less. My friends were not as satisfied with their meals, and so this wasn’t a vacation favorite across the board. I guess it’s catch and go with what you order. I’d definitely return here though!

Way pricey, but the lobster here is quite good. Not a lot for the money, but cooked nicely. The Filet Mignon was not up to par, but I think all the meat in Mexico is sub par. We ordered bottled water(hey, it’s Mexico!), and they serve Fiji water. They crack the seal right in front of you so you know it’s the real deal. The price for a liter bottle is about 6.00 U.S. dollars. Once again, a little pricey, but for the feeling of a classy restaurant in Mexico, it was worth it. If you want to spend about 200.00 U.S. on a family of four, then this is a place in Cancun to get decent food.

Family friendly upscale. Bar is to left as you walk down pier to restaurant. Good view of sunset lagoon from there or from the restaurant patio. Bar service good, but we were only 1 of 2 couples there. Note– you cannot eat at the bar; only drink; which is probably why it was so empty. After being seated for dinner had to constantly wave down our waiter for everything. Corn: crab soup was amazing. Lobster pancakes were nothing but fried cornmeal. Yuk. Never got our water to drink. Pass.

If you want good food. This is the place to be. This is assuming you don’t care about the amazing experience that should be part of the dinning experience. The experience was not as special as it should be considering the price level. I will never come here again. There are other good restaurants that offer great food and an amazing experience. I was so frustrated with the experience that I asked to speak to the manager and he never showed up. It’s obvious that they don’t care about feedback. Gave an extra star only because the food was good. I will spare the details but the service is not worth the price.

At first I selected 4 stars because I agreed with some other reviews about the lobster looking like it was smashed with a meat tenderizer. But I changed my mind because the overall experience was fantastic. We all ate excellent seafood in cancun. The appetizers were excellent. We had he Caesar salad the crab cakes and the shrimps with tortilla and sauce. All were perfect. The service and the atmosphere is great. Very comfortable. You can watch the sunset or hopefully see some alligators(we didn’t see any) Great espresso I would definitely return.

This beloved restaurant under gigantic palapas offers a beautiful over water setting on the famous Cancun lagoon. Service is friendly, swift, and very personable. We visited on a stormy evening but were still able to sit on the covered terrace with the clear plastic windows so we could watch the raindrops dancing on the water. By far the best dish we ordered was the Caesar salad made right at the table with plenty of garlic, parmesan, romaine leaves, and anchovies. It’s large enough for two. The clam chowder, served in a bread bowl, was loaded with fresh clams, and delicious. The prawn pasta had plenty of prawns and mushrooms. We weren’t crazy about the dish served in the two clam shells. One was mostly melted cheese and the other tasted more like antipasti. The birthday dessert was scrumptious-a dark chocolate flourless cake and the singing staff made for a jolly great time. We were told by the waiters that the resident crocodiles were hiding under the restaurant because of the inclement weather. This is restaurant is known for its lobster which you may choose from the tank. Lorenzillo’s has a very fun bar, too.

This was my 6th visit to cancun and I always make it a point to visit Lorenzillos. I brought my GF with me and raved about this place the entire time. After what could have been the worst meal we ever had and over $ 200 later we left angry and hungry with the highlite of the evening being us feeding the gator our $ 200 meal. I am not sure if as cancun grew this place simply couldn’t keep up and became too commercial or my expectations where too high or they simply stopped caring. If it wasn’t for the sangria and the gator I wouldn’t even be giving them the 1 star. If your visiting cancun I would look for another restaurant, it’s a real disappointment as this was a staple on every trip I have made here.

Horrible grilled lobster, wanted something light and ended up with the dead non alive version from the front seafood window. Smelled like dead fish chum! Two little piped squirts of spinach and nasty hard spaghetti served with it! Disgusting rubbery chum! Let people know when paying $ 100USD for lobster that it isn’t fresh!!! Could have had it at home!

Probably one of the worst Lobster meals I’ve had ever. We searched Unilocal and ask the hotel concierge for the best Lobster in Cancun and it seemed this place was the go to spot. It is not… Besides the Spinach Purée that seemed to have come from a cake frosting squeeze tool and dry gross pasta, the lobster was tough, and flavorless. And the presentation was terrible We asked what was best and we were swayed toward the Grilled version. Came out of the Tail and flat on the plate and was tough and chewy. I wanted a place to visit on many future returns. And this will be one that I will avoid and be sure others do the same I wasted $ 100USD for garbage Lobster with horrific sides Pathetic

Let’s start with the pros: the service here is on point!(Hence the 2 stars) Every detail was attended to, and when I say every, I mean every. The location is also quite lovely, we were lucky enough to sit outside right by the lagoon and saw lots of fish swimming past. BUT… You come to a restaurant for the food. The crab claw appetizer was tasty. The lobster cakes were just decent. I ordered the lobster tail broiled, with a pasta side and a potato. The lobster was out of the shell and looked like over cooked chicken that had been beaten within an inch of its life with a meat tenderizer!(Sorry I don’t have a photo) They put the end piece of the tail shell on the edge of the plate to make it APPEAR like a lobster tail. I actually am not even sure it was lobster, as it was the blandest piece of seafood I’ve ever had. The pasta with marinara was awful and the potato was sub par. I haven’t been to a red lobster(not my thing) in about 15 years, but I guarantee its better! My boyfriend ordered the«you pick it» lobster. It was at least presented in its shell. But, again, was extremely bland. He liked the Alfredo pasta he got as a side though. For $ 200 I expect to be impressed. I was not. And won’t be going back. I can only think that the 4 star reviews were about the service or by people who have never eaten a good lobster before…

The restaurant is beautiful. You really can’t beat it. The wood is immaculate and well taken care of. Only bummer is bathroom is upstairs in the restaurant, so if you have anyone who doesn’t do well with stairs, it’s tough. The service is ok — Once again, I was in a position of not being a fish person, but I like clams, so I ordered the clam chowder and the chicken. Ok, so my friend ordered the stone crab claws and the ceviche. They asked if we wanted them brought at different intervals. We said yes. So my chowder was done, my friend got her claws and was working on them. but the proceeded to hover over the table from the aisle away until she was done to bring my chicken. No huge deal, but they asked twice if I wanted to wait and then asked after the 2nd time what I had. I was pretty stuffed after the clam chowder. I have to say, it was pretty damn good. The bites of chicken I had were good, and it was the only dish I took home. Was good the next day too(chicken with goat cheese and poblanos). My friend said her ceviche wasn’t great. More like it wasn’t «cooked» in the lime juice, but pre-cooked and then lime added later. e.g. no flavor. Overall, not bad. But I would go to Navios before here.

I wanted to leave the resort we were staying at and find a place with seafood. After doing some searching on Unilocal,I found this place and decided to give it a try. I’m happy we did. The service and food were excellent! Having just finished raining, our outside seating was covered, but we were right next to the window and had a nice view of the lagoon. We missed sunset, but I agree with the other reviews that this would be a very nice place to watch it from. We had two waiters with us for our entire meal, and were very much attended to. After we ordered a bottle of wine and water to drink, fish empanadas came out with two different sauces. We ordered an appetite that included peel and eat shrimp, live and raw oysters on the half shell and stone crab. Again, a new tray of sauces with this part of our meal came out along with an assortment of freshly baked bread. For my main course, I went with the surf and turf; lobster tail with a fillet. It also came with a spinach purée and baked potato. The steak was cooked to a nice medium temperature, and I felt the lobster was a tad chewy and perhaps a bit overdone. It certainly didn’t stop me from eating it! This was a great little spot and I’m happy we have it a try. The valet saw that we arrived by taxi and immediately called one for us as we left. 5 star service and probably a 4.5 star for food. If you’re in town and want to try something with a lot of seafood options, this is your place!

This place is amazing!!! If I could give them more stars I would! If you are looking for top notch service, you will not be disappointed here. Every time I’ve come, there are 2 servers per table. If you enjoy fresh seafood, I would say this is the best place in all of Cancun to eat! Everything is so fresh and absolutely delicious! You can even pick your own lobster If you would like. My favourite food is seafood and I have to tell you how surprised I was at how many ways you can get lobster done. If you love wine, take a look at their wine cellar before being seated… It will make anyone envious! There’s something for everyone. Lastly, if you like a bit of entertainment while you eat, there are always a tonne of fish to feed and sometimes you’re able to see the 1 – 2 gators that stop off here for their supper as well. If you’re in a sharing mood, you can always share a bit of your supper with them. I have eaten here on more than one occasion and have never been disappointed with the food or service. The prices are very reasonable considering the quality, freshness and size of all of the sea food. Depending on the ambience you’re looking for, you can sit inside or outside on the huge deck. Go for sunset, you’ll be amazed at the jaw dropping colours you get to watch while enjoying your wine.

Heard good things about Lorenzillo’s, but I’ll be honest we only went because you can see huge crocodiles whilst you eat. The food is outstanding and the service was also great. Opening doors for you and making sure your okay, I can’t fault it. I didn’t actually get sea food I got chicken and I loved it. The crocodile was maybe a foot away from me, was so scary it was amazing. Absolutely loved it.

Let me start off by saying this restaurant from the first impression deserves 5 stars, the ambience, lighthouse maritime décor friendly door greeter, but then all else changed once we were seated. having just sat down and not even looking at the menu yet we ordered water to start the waiter pretty much rolled his eyes. I was going to order glasses of wine but not knowing what entrees we were going to pair w it was either red or white wine but due to his attitude I decided against any beverages. It’s not like he gave us any options he just said what would you like to drink. We decided to splurge and go with the«pirate» dish for two. 2 small 5 ounce lobster tails(went with the waiters suggestion to have it broiled vs grilled he said it would be more tender turned out not to be the case), grilled grouper, oyster rockefeller, spinach purée, pasta linguine, soft shell crab, grilled shrimp. Platter came out fast & luke warm I went straight for the lobster since that’s what I was looking forward to. you would think a place like this(with loaded lobster tanks upon entering) would have those items down cooked to perfection but sadly it was overcooked and very tough I could barely even cut it with the fork & was tasteless(as we’re the grilled shrimp) I needed to drown in butter it seems like they must have been frozen prior vs fresh! the soft shell crab was way salty not edible and we only ate one out of the six oysters Rockefellers because they didn’t taste right. Being in Mexico food poisoning is a first thing on your mind. It was furthest from my mind considering I went to a reputable high end restaurant. But the smell and taste had me Leary. We had to chase our waiter down to get our glasses of water refilled and there is a bit of neglect, baffling because it wasn’t that busy but tons of waitstaff lingering around. As happy & excited as I was when I entered the place I now couldn’t wait to leave. We pretty much paid over $ 100 for a nice seat by the water to watch and look at the fish & crocodiles, which was very entertaining for me. Sadly we will not be going back because I would love to have some great tasting seafood I don’t mind paying for good seafood but it must be quality & fresh and that was short lived here.

Located in the hotel zone, Lorenzillo’s has a wonderful setting being situated right by the sea. It also has an outdoor seating area, 2 levels of indoor seating, live seafood, and a crocodile! We chose this place after attempting to visit other seafood restaurants that turned out to be closed due to bad weather and enjoyed the atmosphere. Please note there is not much parking out front but taxi’s and the bus also comes right by. We were crazing amazing seafood so we ordered the lobster tail in garlic with pasta — which was cooked well along with the salmon steak. The salmon steak was slight overcooked but still enjoyable. What I did not enjoy was the oysters… normally I love oysters and so we ordered half a dozen. big mistake, perhaps these were really tasty to other people but after having South Melbourne Market oysters… I don’t know what I ate. The size was much bigger, but it was gooey and super super tasteless. Neither of us enjoy the oysters and no amount of sauce, onions or garlic helped. Overall, the atmosphere is fun and you can read about the story behind Lorenzillo’s and take touristy photos in front of the wheel but the service was not as exceptional as I expected for the price and I would rather go to a local night market. If you are going to visit this place, I would go during the day if possible and sit outside.

Was so hoping to give this restaurant more than 2 stars. My Unilocal history consists of 4 + 5 stars… every once in while, something like this happens. My boyfriend had dined here years ago and was really looking forward to the lobster & tableside Caesar. Positives: attentive, friendly, courteous staff — never a lag in service. I really believe the all inclusive hotels may have affected the quality of the food. Why only 2 stars: 1. My boyfriend ALWAYS drinks Ketel One Vodka, up, no vermouth, olives. He knows what a martini tastes like. When he tasted his, the vodka was barely discernible. It was watered down or mixed with water. It was most definitely NOT pure vodka. The ice in the shaker would not have made it so undrinkable. Returned it. Ordered a margarita. They are not much better. 2. The tableside Caesar… preparation done expertly. Except the salad was swimming in dressing and then, oh no, more was drizzled on top. It was too wet. 3. The lobster — we both picked out decent size fresh lobsters 1.5 pounds each. They arrived, looked good… until…we both tried to cut them. They were both so overcooked and tough we ate less than half of them. How do you ruin a good lobster. We found out. The piped side of creamed spinach that came with our meal… i won’t even describe that one. It really saddens me to write this review. Maybe w were there on an off night but we will never return. What a waste of good money.
