Great location overlooking the town square but the food was lacking especially for the cost. I had the crab cakes which had several shells in them, and no they were not soft shells, and the tortilla soup which was completely bland. Disappointing for sure.

Awesome place for when there is something going on in the square. Had the shrimp tacos and they were so fresh and flavorful. Staff was friendly and they have plenty of umbrellas so that you are in the shade.

Great little roof top place for a snack, Guac is excellent!!! We also had the shrimp and fish tacos, which were very fresh with pineapple and jicama. This place was open earlier than the others, but the menu was well laid out, proper English, etc. margarita was really good, they had variety of beers, including light and even us domestic bud light. Better snack or early lunch place as the menu wasn’t super extensive.

Great homemade tortilla chips, good guacamole and the beer was cold! Cool view from the patio but no A/C. Our server Miguel was awesome.

What a great spot. We loved it so much, it was not only our first stop upon arriving in San Jose but our last meal before we left to fly home. The margaritas can’t be beat, and all the food we had was superb, with lots of organic options. Great quality. Will absolutely come back.

Stopped in for an early lunch with wife and kids. Food ranged from okay to great. Shrimp tacos were bland rest of fare was very good. Nice relaxing space for afternoon food and drinks.

Really pleasant service in a charming atmosphere. There isn’t much of a view, but we certainly enjoyed our late lunch here. The margaritas were delicious and outshone the food. My husband ordered coconut shrimp which came with fresh veggies and jasmine rice. The veggies were perfect with a bit of char. He said the shrimp was well prepped with good quality, fresh shrimp. My fish tacos were okay because they were bland but the fresh mango added flavor. The kids’ burgers were s little strange, with added spices they weren’t prepared for. The side salad accompanying the burger was beautiful and tasty. We’ll be looking for spicier food somewhere else, but we’re glad we gave this restaurant a try.

Stumbled upon this gem and the smooth Spanish serenade of Jorge Murat by chance last night, what a perfect way to spend a warm Mexican evening! To our delight they make a mean mojito, have amazing art on display and the rooftop bar looks out over the mission and town square.

What a find! We chose The View literally for the view from their second story patio dining area and laughed at the name. What we got was an unexpectedly great dining experience. Our children could move around a bit and loved looking over the plaza and had plenty of «kid food» choices as picky American eaters. My husband and I also enjoyed the outdoor setting including live music. The best surprise was that our meals were really good! We all enjoyed excellent guacamole and a «fundu» that had a mix of chorizo, poblano and mushroom that was meant to be mixed in the cheese, but was great on its own. My husband got pozole that was authentic and just the right balance of spice for someone who likes it hot. I got grilled fish that was served on a bed of Mexican style rice and fresh veggies cooked al dents. We topped it off with fresh churros and rice pudding. All presented with class and constant attention from the waiter. They just opened so give it a go if you are a local!
