Despite that this Taqueria is located next to Papas & Beer, you can sit inside and hold a conversation at normal volumes without going deaf from the music next door. Avenida Ruiz is a relatively touristy area, so prices are slightly expensive compared to other places in town. However, it’s still cheaper than in California, and the folks here speak English. I had 4 tacos of various meats. They were all delicious and on par with the best tacos I’ve had in SoCal. I especially enjoyed the Tacos al Pastor(red meat pork). The salsa platter was good, but the chips tasted soft and stale. Service was all right. The guys next to us were served within 3 minutes, but for some reason, it took them closer to 15 minutes to serve us.

Great place for tacos, the asada tacos were the bomb and the al pastor has great flavor. Thanks to Unilocal for telling us of this place.

This place has been here for a long time, and it’s been my go to when I’ve been in Ensenada. Everything is cheap, the tacos are really good and you should treat yourself to my favorite, the Cono de Frijol. Who needs a waffle cone with ice cream when you can have a tortilla chip cone filled with refried beans topped with cheese and pico de gallo? Add a cold beer and the noise from Papas and Beer next door, without the insanity of Papas and Beer next door? That, my friends, is my idea of heaven.

Don’t come here for Margaritas. That’s next door. What you really come here for is the food. Amazing! We ate here almost every day last time we were in Ensenada. My personal favorite are their fish tacos.

Again the bus driver mentioned that this place is the place to come to since it’s in the heart of the strip where all the bars are. And i must say he was right. The tacos are excellent here. Atmosphere: Located right next to Hussongs Cantina. Open bar style seating. Tables in the back. Moderate sized place. Kitchen is open with in the bar so you can see them make each taco/burrito. Food: Tacos are about $ 1.60 each(american) Burritos are $ 5.50 Fiancée and i tried the al pastor, carne asada, and fish. All were awesome but favorite were the carne asada and al pastor. Moderate sized tacos. Plenty of condiments served with your food(onions, cilantro, guacamole, cabbage, radish, 4 different salsas). Their tortillas are house made. We even were able to take a carne asada burrito with us to go. Service: Friendly. Kinda slow. this place is really busy. Overall: Since the restaurant is open, the street vendors that constantly come by can be very annoying when you’re eating. The reason for 4 stars. Other than that, great tacos. great quality meat. will remember this place for sure. cash only. *WiFi available if you ask for their access code.

Grub tacos. They hook it up on the condiments plus about 4 different salsas(mild to really hot). Al pastor tacos seemed to be our groups favorite. I personally liked the ice cold Victoria beer. Lol. 10 of us had a feast with tons of drinks and beer for under 80 dollars Anerican.

Without a doubt my favorite taco place in town. We live just a few blocks away, and probably s top in 2−3x’s per month. All of the meat is high quality and cooked right in front of you. The margaritas are excellent, the owner and other workers have a great personality, and the tacos are about $ 1.5/each — hard to complain about a thing.

My favorite taco shop in the world. The one that sets the bar for any other taco shop I go to. Tasty street tacos. They do not disappoint. Try the pescado(fish) tacos, or the pastor tacos first, carne asada and pollo asada tacos second. I’ve not had anything but the tacos here so that’s all I can base my review on. Delicious!

Our only goal after getting off the cruise ship was to find some margaritas and tacos. We walked the 15 – 20 mins through town and our first stop was to papas and beers just for the tourist experience — it’s cancun at spring break in a cup. Then we made our way just down the street to this taco stand. This was what we were looking for! Great hole in the wall place with a bunch of sauces and salsas to top yummy tacos with. The al pastor was my favorite.

It’s Ensenada, Unilocal is not that prevalent here. The good reviews of restaurants here don’t necessarily equate to good places to eat. The beer is cold the people dining here are friendly. The tacos leave a lot to be desired. The people sitting next to me as I write this are singing Bruno Mars’ Uptown Funk. Take that how you will. R

While I enjoyed my fish, carne asada, and al pastor tacos here, I wasn’t that impressed. The staff is friendly, but the tacos here are nothing to right home about. Plus, relative to surrounding taquerias, they’re not even that cheap(even if they are by absolute standards). I think that due to the sparse reviews for any food in the area(especially in English), people will flock to any place that has a few positive ratings, which will in turn lead to more positive ratings, spawning a cycle of greater publicity for a place that is frankly only slightly above average. But I digress. The tacos here are good, not great.

I’ve been, ahem, «burned» in Mexico before from eating not-so-legit local food so I am super wary of eating at some establishments without checking Unilocal first. Luckily I had a nice data plan and read all these good reviews. Armed with the confidence that I wouldn’t be «paying» for this meal later, I sauntered up to the bar and ordered a plate full of tacos. Did this place serve the best tacos I’ve ever eaten? No, but wow, these things were good and cheap! We had about 6 different tacos(the steak and pork were by far the best; the fish had a super thick and not too tasty batter), a bottle of Modelo beer and a can of soda. The total price for this feast? Around $ 14 U.S. The food is freshly prepared right in front of you in an open kitchen and I loved that I could keep my eye on things. Don’t be put off if there aren’t any open seats, just wait and some will open up. Sit at the bar that surrounds the cooking area. It’s fun to watch and talk with the cooks and other patrons. The employees that deal directly with customers speak really good English in addition to Spanish and were happy to(patiently) suffer through my attempts at practicing Spanish with them! Best of all, they take U.S. dollars, saving you the headache of fumbling with pesos. This place is easy, fast and cheap. You can choose your tacos from the big menu board. Most tacos run about $ 1.50 each. Not a bad deal when you consider this stuff is made fresh to order. I had to wait 20 minutes for my fish taco because the cook had to run down to the fish market to buy more fish. I was hoping that meant I would love the taco but it was just okay. Way too much breading(the fish tacos in Ensenada are traditionally fried) and the batter wasn’t to my taste. But try one anyway(when in Rome…) You can get either a flour or corn tortilla(soft corn, no crunchy corn shells here), and both are very tasty. Each taco comes individually wrapped in paper, which helps in holding all the delicious stuffing in. On the counter you’ll see cilantro, onions, limes and an assortment of salsas for customizing your tacos. All of these accompaniments are served«family style» so you’ll be asking your neighbors to pass the goods. I can assure you with confidence that you won’t get sick if you eat here. This is important in Mexico. I ate all different tacos, used the salsas and fresh limes, and I have had zero issues(and this is 3 days after my visit). I would caution you to ONLY drink bottled or canned drinks, however(this includes water), and insist that the bottle or can be opened in front of you. Beware that you WILL be approached by wandering musicians, shoe shiners and lots of little kids begging for money. If you can’t handle that sort of thing, one: why the heck are you in Mexico in the first place and two: it might be best not to eat here. Usually a firm«no gracias» will shoo them away but some are pretty persistent. A lot of the little kids will ask for a taco or a can of soda. We bought a skinny little kid a soda and the lady next to us got him a taco. It’s sad to witness so much poverty but at least I felt like I did something good instead of giving them some coins that would go who knows where. So pay it forward and do a good deed.

Every time we cruise into Ensenada, we go to Taqueria Mexico LIndo for the best tacos, burritos and beer! The prices are great and as said in previous reviews the food is fresh and you can sit and watch them cook it right in front of you. The guys that run this place are always friendly and speak English too. They bring you like five kinds of fresh salsas/sauces and for a buck and half you can have the best taco you have ever eaten. They come on a regular paper plate, so nothing fancy, but boy it is delicious! A Pacifico or Corona is 2.5USD and that is a deal. It is just a nice little kind of hole in the wall place that is clean and friendly, and a great place to get the flavor of Ensenada.

The absolute best place to get tacos! I’ve been visiting Ensenada for about eight years and this place never, ever disappoints. The people are friendly, the place is clean(bathrooms too) and the food is delish! Beers are always cold and flowing! On another note… I’m extremely picky when it comes to eating in Mexico and I’ve never been sick from this place. The kitchen is open so you can see everything being prepared right in front of you if you sit at the bar, which you must! The only downside that I can find is that if you sit at the bar, you will be confronted by outside people, meaning, beggars or people trying to sell you junk. If you’ve had enough beers, it’s no problem for someone like me who can shoo them away in Spanish. If you’ve had enough beers, you might even strike up a conversation with them and find out more about them. The people who work here are always pretty aggressive about getting them out though, so no worries. If it really bothers you, sit inside. Don’t miss this place if you’re ever in Ensenada… seriously, some of my best memories have been created here! BTW-don’t miss the al pastor here! It’s AMAZING!

Suppose to be the best local spot for tacos and they do taste great. It’s a really small, casual place, with yummy authentic food even though a lot of places in this city taylor toward tourists. Tacos will run you 10 – 15 pesos($.75-$ 1.15) each. All of the meat are delicious, al pastor being my favorite pick.
