La Estancia Gaucha

Qué desagradable experiencia el servicio en La Estancia Gaucha. En definitiva sus
platillos y su sabor es de lo mejor que hay. Pero los meseros son una calamidad.
Pedimos unas empanadas, ricas pero caras y tamaño miniatura.
Chinchulines, no hay mejores.
Salsa y chimichurri, más o menos.
Clericot, malísimo! sabía a hielo.
Meseros, lo peor. Cómo explicarles que te daba las cervezas en la mano para que tu mismo las pusieras en la mesa. Todos parecían enojados, sin sonrisa, amargados, aventando los platos, y uno tenía que pedirles cita para que se dignaran a pararse en la mesa.
La ensalada, es muy feo que te la den en tu plato. Me sentí en la cárcel.
Antes usaban tazones para servirte.
Corte cowboy, excelente.
Vacío, me supo bien pero creo que la carne tenía mucho tiempo en el congelador, sabía vieja.
Queso fundido, normal.

I have been wanting to try this place for YEARS! Seriously years. I love the logo of the old gaucho drinking yerba mate and every time I drive by I think, damn, I need to get in there. Today I finally popped the cherry.
The place was packed to the brims. Lunch on a Wednesday, who would have thought. Parking lot was packed and we had to double park on the street for 10 minutes before they could make room for us. The restaurant is really big and they can handle a lot of people. We got right in, didn’t like the first table they offered us and were able to pick up some better real estate by the bar by asking politely.
At first the waiter came off a little curt, but as the meal wore on, we really came to like him. Service is very fast, very astute and always available.

The bife de chorizo
The after dinner candies called el Monte

What was less than stellar:
The salad is really plain
The wine by the glass is not good
The espresso was horrible
Will I be back? Absolutely! The place kind of has an old man vibe and it looked like there were a lot of people on business accounts. I would wear something nice. I was in a t-​shirt and would have preferred to have been in a collared shirt.
