Really good food, hot chocolate is so good omg!!! Must try if you are in Guadalajara. The cooks know what they are doing they also cook the food in front of you. They make everything in front of you and satisfy your every craving!!! To bad I got full fast I still wanted to try more best buffet ever

An excellent restaurant, from the cocktails, appetizers, entrees to the desserts! Excellent service and great atmosphere. In the middle of an exclusive Guadalajara area.

The food was great. Walk through the entire buffet first. We didn’t see the taco bar. The service was ok. Terrific atmosphere, the violin & piano player were awesome during your meal. Reasonably priced. We will definitely go back when we visit Guadalajara. Very clean including restrooms.

Word of advice. CHECK OUT THE DESSERT BAR BEFORE YOU EAT! Our table had seafood and steak dishes all were excellent. But if we had seen the dessert bar we would have paced ourselves. Outstanding desserts! Fun place, nice ambiance, great wait staff, and good service. You need to stop here while in Guadalajara.

Restaurante meramente turistico. Lugar bonito y pintoresco. La comida esta «bien». Lugar para darle check y no regresar otra vez.

PESIMO LUGAR!!! Mi mamá y yo fuimos a comer y NUNCA nos trajeron la comida! Esperamos 45 min. por una sopa de tortilla y un pollo moritas. Hablamos con el gerente y nos dijo que el mesero no habia puesto la orden en la cocina. Nos ofreció una copa de vino para quitarnos el mal sabor de boca. He estado en muchas partes del mundo y se que si esto hubiera pasado por ejemplo en E.U. nos hubieran rogado que nos quedarmos y nos hubieran regalado la comida. Mi hermano conose al dueño, el Señor Monroy y me dijo que se lo va a comentar!

Santo coyote, una tradición tapatia para ir a desayunar los domingos con la familia.
Tiene un costo de 200 pesos por persona (desayuno buffet) y si quieres ahorrarte un poco de dinero, todos los lunes tienen la promoción de 110 pesos.
Si cumples años te recomiendo ampliamente asistir ya que al festejado le hacen una mini ceremonia espiritual y te dan un obsequio.
Tiene una gran variedad de alimentos y bebidas, puedes desayunar desde garnachas hasta exquisito café de la olla. Es fascinante el lugar ya que te transporta a una atmósfera completamente Maya. 100% recomendable.

Este lugar solo le he visitado los dias domingo, y lo unico que se me hace muy tedioso es el tiempo que tienes que esperar para ingresar, eso quiere decir que el lugar es bueno ya de por si solo, para contrarrestar un poco esto tienen afuera totalmente gratis, café, pan y tacos de barbacoa, lo unico malo es que puedes llenarte de mas y perderte todo lo que hay dentro.
para desayunar siempre hay cereal, fruta, huevos al gusto, tortas ahogadas, menudo, chilaquiles y un sin numero de alimentos algunos preparados al instante, eso le da un plus, en la mesa nunca nos falta pan dulce, café de olla o jugos de naranja y verdes que son los mas comunes.
El servicio definitivamente es algo lento pero sin llegar a perjudicar, no me puedo quejar por esta parte.
A mi gusto y parecer si lo recomiendo, volvere a ir.

The place is great, excellent atmosphere. The food is good, but I didn’t find the wow factor.
The service can definitely be improved, more the. One waiter stop by the table and more than once we waited for good 20+ mins to get a salt shaker or lemons. Other than that I gave then 3 stars.
Is a not cheap place, it’s pretty pricey and for that money I sure you will expect a better service.
The desserts on the other hand are great, they have a bar and you can choose at pleasure. Also, the crepas are great and delicious.

I went for lunch with my mom on a Monday afternoon and it was a decent experience but I’m not sure if I would go back. The service was pretty good even when we asked to move to a different table because someone was smoking right next to us on the patio. Overall the food was pretty good but for the price I don’t think it was worth it. I feel that the restaurant was all over the place: like it was having an identity crisis. Yeah I get its bohemian, worldly, touristy, and trying to create a cool artistic atmosphere all while still being somewhat «Native American» but honestly I don’t think it quite worked. The food is also a bit all over the place, I’m not sure if the menu is consistent. For our meal we ordered the Camarones delicia and the filete el patron. The portions were good but again not sure if the taste and quality matches the price. I was actually excited when I saw they are influenced by New Mexican Native American culture because I have been to New Mexico and I love the food and culture there but honestly it was just a little twist on southwestern food. Maybe if I come back I’ll stick with their famous buffet.
Fui a almorzar con mi mamá un lunes por la tarde y fue una experiencia agradable, pero no estoy muy seguro si me gustaría volver. El servicio era bueno, incluso cuando pedimos que nos cambiaran a una mesa diferente porque alguien estaba fumando junto a nosotros en el patio se portaron bien. En general, la comida estuvo buena, pero por el precio no creo que valió la pena. Siento que el restaurante estaba por todo el lugar: como que estaba teniendo una crisis de identidad. Como que quiere el restaurante ser bohemio, turístico, con ambiente artístico al igual con lo «indígena de Norteamérica», pero la verdad es que no creo que funcionó ese mix. También no estoy seguro si el menú es consistente. Ordenamos Camarones Delicia y el filete el patron. Las raciones eran buenas, pero como avía mencionado no estoy seguro si el sabor y la calidad coincide con el precio. En realidad estaba muy emocionado cuando vi que están influenciados por la cultura indígena del estado de Nuevo México, ya e visitado ese estado y me encanta la comida y cultura, pero la verdad es que era sólo un pequeño «twist» a la comida del suroeste de EEUU. Tal vez si vuelvo mejor pruebo su famoso buffet.

Hace tiempo este lugar era muy bueno, ahora tienen un pésimo servicio, los meseros te exigen la propina y solo atienden bien a quien creen que va a pagar o dejar propina, la comida regularmente buena, los postres pésimos y la atención malísima, lastima de lo caro que esta y lo bonito que esta el restaurant

La comida estaba riquisima además estaba con excelente compañía.
Fui un domingo al buffet a celebrar el cumpleaños de un amigo, desde la recepción fueron muy amables, y aunque esperamos unos minutos para pasar, fue muy ameno el tiempo de espera.
Al entrar me acordé de mi niñez en un restaurante de pizza a la leña en la costa de Nayarit, y después seguí viendo la decoración y todo me pareció perfecto.
La comida estaba riquisima, exceptuando unos tacos de barbacoa que estaban dorados de más. El resto de platillos y opciones estaban muy buenos.
En el área de sushi tú puedes elegir como te preparen el rollo que quieras, y en el área de cortes pasa lo mismo.
Tienen una barra de postres que van desde pasteles y dulces típicos de Jalisco hasta nieve de garrafa y trufas.
Las bebidas no están incluidas en el buffet, y el precio no incluye iva, así que hagan bien sus cuentas, a pesar de ser un precio un poco elevado, es bueno por la calidad que ofrecen.
Además de música en vivo, tiene un espectáculo de baile regional, entre otros, ofrecen una amplia experiencia que combina todos tus sentidos.
Al inicio yo ni quería ir, pero salí deseando volver.

Los desayunos buffetes son mas surtidos que laa comidas pero los dos estan muy ricos. En la mañana hay café de olla:)

Came back to visit family and they took me to this amazing place. The food was to die for and the atmosphere was just perfect. The service was great as well and it was very clean. They have this ritual for birthdays that left me speechless. I highly recommend this place. I will for sure come back next time I’m in Mexico

I went to Santo Coyote 2 days ago with my wife for lunch, and the both of us were very pleased with the service, food, and décor. The wait staff is very friendly and polite. The décor is amazing, and since it’s open to the outdoor you get a nice breeze. The food is incredibly good! They make you fresh salsa when you first sit down, and how you how spicy you want it. What really got me the most is that it isn’t expensive if you are coming from the states. Pesos to dollar we spent 1,300 pesos including 200 paso tip, so that’s about 77.50 dollars. I truly recommend it.

The meal was excellente! We had almost every appetizer on the menu and it was a perfect night! The desserts were great including the crepes.

Although the grounds of this restaurant were nothing short of beautiful, I will still give this restaurant 3 stars. Upon arriving for our family vacation I expected the customer service to up to par with their «five star proclaimed ratings» the staff was not very welcoming and did not ask us which side of the restaurant we preferred to be seated. While we were following our hostess to be seated we noticed she was taking us in the direction of the restaurant that was completely empty and not as well decorated as the other side of the restaurant. We asked if she could check to see if there were more tables in the more active/​decorated side and she was quick to say no, in a rude manner. We the asked another server walking by and he was nice enough to check and of course there was a table that would accommodate our party. The first hostess did not even apologize, she simply walked away. We then sat down and ordered drinks, I had hoped the drinks would make up for the initial bad experience. but nope, they tasted worse than the drinks I get at a shitty dive bar by the beach in San Diego. The food I ordered was actually really good however, there were a lot of mistakes in the rest of my party’s orders.

Simply WOW! One of the most beautiful restaurants I have ever seen. From their historical décor to their traditional music and dances. Upon arrival we were immediately greeted by our server. He offered a variety of margaritas selection so decided to try the jamaica and tamarindo ones. Oh my the closest I have ever tasted this good is at Catrinas in Tampa Florida. They were both frozen paired with a nice Siete Leguas tequila. I ordered a four cheese soup to start and yummy! Some of my friends ordered the flor de calabaza soup and was also outstanding. As an entrée I ordered the chicken stuffed with plantains and some spicy sauce (which I don’t remember the name) but it was delicious. The table ordered some molcajete, steak and tacos del negro and they were amazing. Both ambiance and service were stellar. Definitely a place to visit when in Guadalajara. Well recommended

Santo Coyote was a blast. It’s definitely one of the nicest places I ate at in Guadalajara. The aesthetics and food itself were amazing – definitely worth checking out if you’re willing/​able to shell out a bit of money for the experience.
We started off our dinner with some made-​at-​the-​table salsa. They ask you what type of salsa you’d like and prepare it in a molcajete (stone bowl). The dishes are quite intricate here compared to many places in Guadalajara. They had many delightful meat options and also had a number of molcajete options. There is also an all-​you-​can-​eat dessert bar, which was pretty awesome.
The biggest thing that set this place apart from others, though, is the atmosphere. There is a large indoor area, but there is also an equally (arguably larger?) outdoor seating area that is covered by trees and intertwined palm-​leaf roof structures. It feels a bit like you’re in the jungle. Also, I’m not sure if it happens all the time, but we were able to see a traditional dance/​show while we dined. The performers wore cultural attire and sometimes wore masks for the storyline. It was a really unique and fun time.
Only reason it doesn’t get a full 5-​stars (although I did round 4.5 to 5…) is that the portions are a bit small for the price.

It’s been a few years, but when I went this has to be hands down the best dining experience in GDL.
The décor alone keeps you fascinated and visually stimulates as you weave back and forth through different sections of the establishment to your table. Sights, sounds, and smells abound and get your senses ready for the pleasure ahead.
I feel like anyone and everyone who visits here does so for the brunch buffet. But why would you want anything else when everything you could imagine is included in the brunch. There are as many choices as there are gourmands with forks in hand slipping away into a gastronomic paradise.
Started off with champurrados which was the first time I’ve had it. They were great and it was very neat trying an authentic beverage. As far as the food, I tried as much as a could, but after 3 trips/​plates, my stomach as well as my pants could hold no more. There was not one thing I had that I didn’t want a second serving up, but I resisted so that I could try a new dish each new plate I filled up.
I think the only downside to the restaurant is that they don’t offer medical transport assistance from your table to your vehicle. I struggled to maintain balance waddling from side to side navigating my way to the exit. Keep your hands within close proximity to the chairs and tables in the event you have stop and take a break or in case you enter the inevitable food coma prematurely.
Overall, a 10 out of 10. Would dine here again using a motorized wheelchair while wearing comfortable sweatpants a size too large after a 3, possibly even a 4, day fast.

Amazing authentic food from Jalisco which I’m glad to see they gave this also modern pinch they put into the food and ambiance. If you are ever in Guadalajara you should make a reservation for Santo Coyote.

I have visited Santo Coyote in 2008 and 2010 love the food, atmosphere and service. Would definitely fly down again for dinner!

I was here for brunch the day after Christmas 2014, it was delicious. One of the best restaurants in Mexico for traditional fair. Huge selection of food. I still want more. The service was excellent. It was expensive by Mexican standards. But to me as tourist it was definitely worth it.

Si me pidiera describir éste lugar con una palabra lo haría con «caro» afortunadamente tengo varios renglones para hacerlo.
Comida muy rica, servicio impecable, ambientado con música y folklor mexicano. Tiene varios escenarios en los cuales cada cierto tiempo hay una representación de ballet folklorico mexicano, Las bailarinas lucen vestidos de colores representativos, los peinados, que en su mayoría son trenzas o chongos, adornados con listones multicolores. Los hombres vestidos con trajes típicos de diferentes regiones de la Republica Mexicana, en fin, toda una kermese de pueblo en un lugar elegante.
Hay servicio a la carta, pero lo atractivo en mi opinión es el buffet, pues en el encontrarás Pozole, tacos dorados, enchiladas, sopes y demás antojos mexicanos.

En Guadalajara es uno de los pocos lugares donde se puede apreciar la gastronomía mexicana, sin que se llegue al folklore. Su atmósfera recrea estos pueblos de Nuevo México en los tiempos de las primeras misiones católicas y una mezcla de culturas originarias que resultan en una experiencia muy interesante para quien visita el lugar.
Sin embargo, aunque la decoración sea suficiente para que cualquier comensal se vaya de espaldas no es el principal atractivo del Santo Coyote. Su cocina está basada en estos ingredientes milenarios que caracterizan a nuestra cultura: el maíz, el chile, el chocolate y es tan sencilla que piensas que puedes comerla en casa de tu abuela, pero el lugar también es parte de la magia.
En breve, un lugar espectacular con una cocina auténtica mexicana (y una cuenta elevada).

Conocí este lugar por primera vez gracias a una promoción que conseguí en internet. Son de esos lugares de los que se escuchan bastantes cosas buenas y en esta ocasión no se equivocaban.
Cuando llegue al lugar me dio la impresión bastante atractiva y coincidía con la descripción que me habían hecho, elegante y con un estilo propio. Recuerdo que en aquella ocasión comimos sushi y debo reconocer que fue bastante bueno además la atención de los meseros fue muy buena, siempre atentos si es que se requería algo.
Después decidí ir con mi familia a probar el bufet que ofrecen por la mañana (ya que somos clientes frecuentes de este tipo de lugares) y me pareció bastante bueno y completo, creo que se puede resaltar las tortas ahogadas y los tacos de barbacoa. Este restaurant se convierte en una excelente opción para aquellos que quieren festejar algo especial o para quienes vienen de visita a Guadalajara

Vaya lugar, tiene una vibra medio pesada. Debo admitir que las imágenes religiosas me malviajan un poco, me incomodan, la carga cultural (y personal, de recuerdos familiares) que tienen me resulta impactante. Y no para mal, sino que es una sensación extraña.
Después de mi breve desahogo proveniente de la decoración de este lugar, les cuento que los taquitos de carnitas están re buenos, fue lo que comí y, por que pude apreciar de otros platos, todo se veía muy bien servido.
Se ve que es muy recurrido este lugar porque de entrada no había lugar, tuvimos que esperar un poco. Y no es que fuera la hora plena de la comida, ern ya pasadas las 330 o algo así.
Me gustó la comida pero repito, la decoración es muy sui generis

Tengo la sospecha de que la comida mexicana sabe mejor mientras más kitsch sea el lugar en el que te la comas, o que al menos así piensa la gente que construye lugares como éste.
Desde la entrada sientes que vas directo a la cueva de un coyote santísimo y te preguntas si vas a comer o a ser comido (y sabes que también lo segundo por el varote que te van a cobrar).
Básicamente, aquí puedes comer lo que podrías pedir en un mercado (y por la mitad del precio que aquí), pero rodeado de una decoración ultra recargada con santos de un lado y murales ¿apaches? del otro.
Tu platillo, que puede ser desde una torta ahogada hasta unos deliciosos tacos de carnitas, vendrá servida en un plato como de convento, de barro, en el que cada cosa que pruebes se embarrará deliciosamente y se te antojará más.
Ta bueno venir a conocerlo, pero entonces trata de no pensar cuánto hubieras pagado por eso en cualquier esquina o mercado.

El increíble «Santo Coyote», creo que no hay persona que haya venido aquí y no se haya ido contenta con lo que pidió de comida, por lo menos todos los que conozco, y me incluyo, hemos salido de este lugar felizmente llenos.
Si quieres hacer algo verdaderamente especial ven aquí, sus precios son caritos, pero vale muchísimo la pena que te des un gusto de este tipo. Desde la comida hasta el espacio decorativo este lugar es precioso, los mismos árboles (que son higueras) fungen como columnas de soporte para los segundos pisos, su iluminación nocturna ambienta la comida a un acto más intimo (aunque haya siempre mucha gente) y el servicio y conocimiento de los meseros sobre lo que tienen en el menú siempre es acertada.
Para fechas importantes como «el día del grito», Navidad, «el día del amor y la amistad», etc. hacen eventos especiales, donde compras tu boleto con anticipación y casi siempre son buffettes o platillos a escoger servidos con excelente presentación e increíble sabor.

Pero la ultima vez que estuve ahi, fue memorable, estaba con mi galan fuimos a que conociera el lugar puesto que es viene de Pais, le dije que se vistiera guapo, y vaya que me hizo caso, salio de la habitación con camisa blanca y saco negro! se veia, como para casarnos!
al llegar nos dieron mesa en 5 minutos, y le di un tpur por el lugar, no paraba de tomar fotos estaba fascinado!, todo le gustaba, en la noche la iluminación es hermosa, se ve muy romantico, pero tambien es indicado para grande grupos de amigos.
sentándonos en la mesa de equipales Pedimos un molcajete con mariscos, carnes y verduras!, nos trajeron las tortillas recién hechas, y la salsa nos la preparan al gusto justo ahi en nuestros ojos, la cena estuvo deliciosa, comenzó el show mas noche, unos bailarines regionales nos deleitaron con sus bellas danzas. él estaba super feliz de haber ido ahi le encanto todo!
despues de la cena nos subimos al bar del restaurante una hora mas, pedimos unos tragos y disfrutamos de nuestra velad ajuntos, el bar es mas juvenil y también puede comprar botella y festejar con amigos

Hace muchos años acudía cada viernes al bar que se encuentra al lado de este restaurant y parte del mismo, el Santo Cachorro, en ese entonces tocaba un grupo de rock que se llamaba La Máquina de Ozono, excelentes músicos por cierto. Pasé veladas muy divertidas y la verdad recuerdo esos tiempos con mucho cariño.
Hoy soy fan del restaurant y sobre todo del bufett. Les recomiendo ir con mucha hambre, pues hay de todo, desde mariscos, carnes, comida italiana, japonesa y sobre todo mexicana.
La decoración del lugar es una fusión entre las culturas de los indios de Nuevo México y La Conquista, pues en algunas de las paredes se aprecian murales de ángeles y caballos y en otras indios Sioux y Navajos. También prevalecen las artesanías mexicanas.
De la mayoría de los techos de todo el lugar penden hermosas lámparas de bejuco que le dan un toque muy cálido y mexicano.

We arrived at 2:30 Saturday afternoon with one of the salmon dishes in my mind. The dishes have a selection of sauces, which all taste good. The tortilla soup and salsa is made right at the table — very fresh.
What surprised me today was the buffet. We could have ordered off the menu, but elected to graze the buffet. Tacos, quesadillas, italian dishes, roast beef, all kinds of salad, chicken dishes, and sauces. I’m hooked on this place.
There is live music, usually folk and mariachis walking the isles.

First of all, Free margarita when you check in and hashtag #menusantocoyote that alone made me a fan!
My cousin too, my mom and me to this restaurant for a buffet brunch. I have to say I was not impressed when I learned it was a buffet because I am not much of a fan, but it won me over.
The atmosphere:
It is an upscale restaurant and the décor shows. It has a native american theme and there are beautiful murals throughout the restaurant. There are also a few gardens and a couple of waterfalls in the back. People are nice and the service was excellent. Staff were on task, never pushy and always accommodating.
The food:
The food is the reason why this beautiful restaurant receives a 4 star rating. It is a buffet and the flavors on the food show. It is clearly made for quantity rather than quality. It had good taste, but it was buffet food. There were beautiful arrays of traditional Mexican food anything you can imagine from eggs with nopales, carnitas tacos, tortas ahogadas, beans, rice, and a chilaquiles/​omelette bar.
Drinks:
Our server very graciously brought us a variety of freshly squeezed juices and shakes. He also served us glasses of iced water!!! this is a commodity in Mexico. Nothing is served with ice. He earned major points with that. I didn’t order cocktails because it was late morning when we arrived, but after visiting the bathroom and learning of their free margarita offer, I couldn’t resist. It was delicious. It was a tamarind margarita with chilli on the rim. I would have preferred for it to be on the rocks, but hey I’ll drink a free blended margarita anytime!
The service is what impressed me the most. They surely deserve 5 stars. The food, although good, lacked something. Overall, it was a great experience and I’d definitely go back again on my next visit to Guadalajara and try maybe a couple more other margaritas ;)
