One of the many beautiful things about Mexico and its gastronomy is the places where you are able to sit down and enjoy a wonderful meal or simply eat ‘garnachas’ and ‘antojitos’. This pambazo place, which has no official name, comes to life every Friday and Saturday night inside a vecindad on 12 de Octubre in Escandón. This is part of the gastronomical magic that happens all over Mexico City, where you are able to literally come into the homes of the locals and try their amazing cooking. Step into this humble vecindad and order the city’s traditional pambazo, or order a tostada or a quesadilla with the filling of your liking, there’s a lot to choose from! You can order right at the ‘kitchen’, which is set up in the vecindad’s walkway, or grab one of the tiny clipboards opposite to where the cooking takes place and write down your order. Take a seat and enjoy antojitos at its finest: traditional, humble, and delicious. Condiment with some of the deliciously intoxicating salsa verde for a spicy finish, and wash it all down with a Sidral. Truly a hidden gem in Escandón for pambazos and antojitos, and a place to enjoy the typical barrio.
