Best pasta i have had in mexico. Good dessert, nice staff. Little but nice menu. Fair prices, nothing negative to mention.

Terrific restaurant. The chef/owner Anthony is a great host. He asked us what we liked, and he gave us some great options. Food was spectacular. He was a joy to talk to, and he has a fascinating past. The staff is very attentive. He has two dogs that are so sweet and adorable. They make you feel like you are dining at someone’s house.

This restaurant is great. The owner is an upstanding guy. Don’t even ask to see the menu, let him pick it for you. We had enpenada’s, salad, and steak. It may have been the best steak I have ever had. If you want to watch live American football, the owner loves to watch it, so he may have it on. We were actually there on the owners birthday, and so he came out and partied with us. Highly recommend eating here. May be the best Italian food in Mexico.

Excelente lugar!

Nice restaurant. Friendly staff. The chef came out as well to say hello. I did the fixed price special and the food was quite good. Ample bread and butter on the table. The pasta — a pesto — had just the right amount of sauce. Dessert was a lemon dish also tasty. Note the menus now have a different name of them — no longer Trattoria Toscana — but the waiter said it was still the same place. This isn’t high end Italian, it’s about what you would expect near a Marriott.

This is how a restaurant should feel. The chef/owner(Anthony) along with his two dogs welcome you as soon as you step inside. No need for menus. Anthony took care of us with soup, salad, and a tray fit for kings loaded with sirloin, fettucine w/pesto Alfredo, and fries. I felt as if in was eating at my grandparents house. Highly recommended

Friendly, attentive service and great food. The chef said his server didn’t show up for the day so we had the pleasure of having him as our server. Created a chicken mushroom linguini dish with a little spice for me. We also had the lasagna, which came with a side of romaine salad. Cute little place down a hidden street next to the Marriott.

I travel to Mexico City often, and usually stay at the Marriott nearby. There are many, many restaurants in the local area and this is the one where I am both most comfortable and most confident that I will get an outstanding meal. The proprietor, Anthony, has a rich and storied past that can easily occupy one, two or three nights of interesting tales that tell of a fascinating life. Typically I go with what Anthony recommends, he knows what’s fresh in the kitchen and comes up with excellent soups, salads, and pastas that compliment the main course — often a nice, locally(in a sense) sourced steak. Other times, I have simply walked in, sat down, and told him what I’m in the mood to eat and he takes it from there. I’ve never been less than perfectly satisfied, even when with a bunch of goofy American friends. I am also American and could be construed as goofy. The staff is very personable, none of the attitude that you may find at nearby establishments(Angus), and the price is just right. It won’t break you for a great meal here. Plan on hanging around for a while. There is good wine and conversation to be had and two of the chillest restaurant dogs I’ve ever run across. Good dogs means good people, enjoy.

On a stroll around the Zona Rosa in search of an alternative to Mexican fare, I came upon this place. It was a nearly empty and a waiter was out on the sidewalk trying to drum up business. When trying out an Italian restaurants for the first time, I almost always order Cioppino. I asked him if Cioppino was on the menu. It wasn’t but he stepped inside to ask the chef about my request. Anthony(the chef/owner) came out to greet me and assured me he could whip up a Cioppino that would make me happy. Indeed what he «threw together» was fantastic! The next night, my last in Mexico for this trip, I returned. «Make me your favorite meal» I requested. An unforgettable 3 course feast ensued. The main course steak might have been the best steak I’ve ever eaten. The soup, salad and pasta were all first rate. Turns out we were neighbors in San Francisco, where he owned a restaurant for many years. We had lots to talk about. For certain, these were my best meals on this two week trip to Mexico.

I have been coming to this quaint restaurant for several years. I have recommended this restaurant to many friends and acquaintances. The fish and chips(made with sea bass) are out of this world. The hand tossed pizzas are fantastic and the grilled cuts of meat are great! The house special is meat brought in from Sonora. Chef Anthony and the staff make you feel like you are at home.
