La Piazzeta

Update 2.22.16: I created a page and posted this review for their location at the corner of Olas Atlas & Amapas, but the powers that be moved my review to their other location more north. Oh well, I tried!
This place was on the list of recommended restaurants by the owners of the condo we were staying at in PV. They have a second restaurant in the «new» PV as well.
ATMOSPHERE:
A wonderful aroma of pizza welcomes you as you enter. It’s a big restaurant, with seating for 200, we were told. There’s a spacious covered lanai where the majority of the seating is, and quite a few indoors, along with a small bar and gelateria at the front. A 5-​piece mariachi band was serenading guests when we arrived, and they were awesome sounding!
MENU:
Italian apps, pastas, pizza, dessert.
FOOD:
La Piazzetta Pizza — They’re all chewy and slightly crunchy thin crust pies, and this one is loaded with mushrooms, pepperoni, kalamata olives with the pits, oregano, mozzarella, and tomato sauce. Very good presentation and taste. Highly recommend.
Fettuccine Alla Paesana — The only downfall to this dish was that the pasta was a tad bit overdone. Other than that, the flavor was great and not heavy at all despite being done in a cream sauce with mushrooms and ham.
SERVICE:
Our male server was a bit slow, but friendly and professional.
Some servers were so entertaining, only due to birthdays in the house. One guy with a great voice, led the rest in song, while other servers did an created firework noises with whistling and slamming of the menus on countertops to recreate the explosion sounds. Very creative!
OVERALL:
A nice change from Mexican fare. Great food, fun ambiance. I’d definitely go back to try more!

Very good food. The Caprese salad is so tasty. Wonderful pizza. Very friendly staff but be prepared to be invaded by wandering mariachi bands.

This is a great choice after day 5 of your vacation in Mexico, when you are craving some comfort Italian cuisine. The food is consistently great and restaurant is beautiful. Overall a wonderful dining experience!
