While some of the other gift stores around cater for birthdays and Xmas, this place is more for gifts for your home. I imagine it’s aimed at yummy mummies who are in the area after their yoga session and fancy a bit of retail therapy. Certainly, it’s a pleasant shop to visit — the times I went there, they some mellow Café del Mar music on in the background. The stuff on the shelves is a nice selection of colorful items for the home– there is a big emphasis on candles and if the woman in your life likes a flickering flame then this is the place to come. I am not sure if it is all those candles but the shop smells very nice. To be frank, there’s not much here for men but we needed a gift for my mother in law’s 60th birthday last year and we found it here. The woman behind the counter was friendly and did a nice job of wrapping it too.

Located in the village alongside all of Mt Eden’s cafes, is this well stocked gift shop.
There is a good range here, and at a variety of prices which is nice. I got a really nice picture frame here once for a friend’s birthday. It was in the shape of a bird and I think it was less than $ 20 (from memory), so it ticked all the boxes really!
I found the staff to be friendly and helpful and I was able to get the frame giftwrapped. Pomegranate is a good shop to have a browse in if you are in the village. It’s worth a look for some gift giving inspiration!

With the commercialism of Christmas and every other holiday excuse you can think of, gift shops are everywhere. Pomegranate is another of these little gift store, not a fruit vendor.
Pomegranate is conveniently placed just after a group of Mt Eden cafés, to catch aimless week-​day dawdlers. It’s a nice enough little store with things that aren’t essential, but could be fun to buy anyway. They have a sizable range of Banks & Co. and sniff boxes I found by knocking over half the display, which the quiet staff member kindly scooped up.
A kindly little gift shop suitable for Mother’s Day or an aged Canadian aunt.

Pomegranate is a lovely little gift store, in particular for the home. A few years back I bought a lovely mohair throw from here, one that is actually mohair unlike cheaper ones sold elsewhere, I still have it and have my eye on a bright orange one they currently have in store. There is a great candle selection here too, as well as scents for the home and they do have some nice glassware too. They also stock some New Zealand made products such as ceramics from Jenz Studio which are hand crafted here. If you are after something a little different for your home or a gift for someone else Pomegranate is worth a look in.
