Unilocal doesn’t actually track the amount of time I’ve been to Celsius as over the years it easily tops double figures. Though I used to work in Manukau I am now located on the shore and so I don’t get to visit as much. Celsius was my first stone grill and I tend to defer to that when I sit down there. I will agree with other reviewers that sometimes the service lets them down, but the food has never disappointed me. The atmosphere is dark, the TVs on the wall are constantly tuned to sports stations, the fireplace is always on in winter months, all of this creates a sports bar feeling. Its a good meal, the ribs are nice, the steaks are good and honestly … its a nice place, BUT the feeling is very sports, very subdued when seated indoors. There is some outdoor seating but get in quick to grab it as the smokers tend to gravitate there.

I couldn’t believe this place had 3 star ratings. Went there on a Sunday and the food couldn’t have been better. We couldn’t wait to go back, unfortunately I get it now and man the fish was so smelly and tasted terrible told the waitress and it was snatched from our table and didn’t see her again until we paid our bill. Mid week service really really let’s this place down. Sorry it’s hard to put in words but definitely won’t be back and we thought that this was our new favorite.

What a disappointment! Was here for dinner with a small group(4). We were seated in the dinning section of the restaurant and that is about as restauranty as it got. They did have table service, but after 25min with out a drink order we decided to order at the bar. Not what I’d call a great start. The food was pleasant, a generous portion of ribs with fries and colslaw. I would give the food a 3.5÷5. The dirty plates sat on the table for another 25min after we were finished. And by looking around and seeing every other table in the dinning room dirty, I understood. They are either disorganised or lazy. Don’t think I’ll be back.

Celsius is quite dimly lit, and has an overall darkish ambience to it. This could be romantic, but it’s far too loud and pub like for that sort of thing. It’s great for a stone grill, which always comes out sizzlingly good, I’ll give you that. Definitely adequate for your inner caveman. The service was alright, but really this place is nothing personal unless you’re in the loyalty club. It’s generally rowdy and not particularly pleasant for a dinner with close friends unless you’d like to do more drinking and steak eating than talking. Basically as I said before, adequate for your inner caveman.

I’ve been to Celcius on more than one occasion and my experiences have been pretty good. I always remember their stonegrill menu as being quite good– the Land Lovers stonegrill is a favourite of mine– but they’ve got a widespread menu that covers brunch to dinner. Its a central location in Botany Junction on Ormiston Road before you reach the main town centreso it’s great for a quiet lunch date before a spot of shopping there. I’d go out on a limb and say Celcius is best known for its somewhat rowdy Friday nights, where you’re bound to find every 18 year old from East Auckland having the time of their lives. I wouldn’t try this place on a Saturday, as its usually dead as can be.

The first and only time I went here was for the $ 10 pizza night. How can you go wrong with that? The pizza was pretty good. The service was okay, the restaurant was okay, it was otherwise a fairly unmemorable experience. On the plus side if you live out east and want a late night out without having to figure out how to get back drunk without spending an arm a leg and your soul on a taxi, then Celsius has DJs rocking the party until the wee hours of the morning. They also have a loyalty club, and unrelatedly, space for private functions.
