De Grand is a good Thai restaurant. I feel like it sits in a bit of a weird location so a lot of people don’t know about it and therefore aren’t experiencing its glory. It’s more upmarket than your usual Thai joint — the place is large and there are a tonne of seating options. It’s modern and clean and the food is a little bit on the fancy side when it comes to presentation.
It’s pretty nice. My mom doesn’t like Thai but she’ll go to De Grand. The menu is extensive and the food is fresh and tasty. Tip: get the bacon prawns on the entrée menu.

I was thrilled when this restaurant opened in the market road shops as it is so close to me it meant another take-​away option! When I went in however I realised how lovely it would be to sit in here! The décor is modern and comfortable as well as authentic, the staff are dressed in a lovely uniform also! Something a little different about this place is that they have a whole section for duck on the menu! For me duck is something that I LOVE, but only get to eat very rarely as it isn’t readily available so of course this made De Grand an instant hit for me. Their meals are on the pricey side so don’t come here if you are looking for a cheap eat. Do come here if you enjoy fresh fragrant food where you can taste and identify all the different ingredients the make up the dish. YUM!
