Simply Thai is a crisp white eatery close to Newmarket train station and Nuffield St. It has the feeling of an efficient and clean spot for a nice business lunch; the $ 10 specials and smaller portion sizes attest to this.
It’s a pity that they advertise a relaxing dining experience. The stark white walls and ceiling to floor windows facing the street remove an feeling of privacy and the radio set to ZM’s Top 40 is anything but relaxing. The offer a takeaway menu but the size and flavour is only adequate, lacking any real pizzazz. The soft spoken waitress seemed a bit vacant and the compact space makes dining awkward.
For lunches or takeaway, Simply Thai is an average restaurant, though I certainly wouldn’t pay any more for the size of their dishes.
