What’s missing? My ability to read and interpret the menu — and I missed the little picture of the chillies indicating heat! Luckily I’d read some reviews first! We ordered medium heat and that was plenty hot. The food was yum. Good strong Szechwan flavours done well. We picked a good time to eat — 5:15pm, not too hot, easy to get a table. Fans were on. It was great. I recommend it

Over the past few years we have tried many Noodles establishments around the planet. Eden Noodles is hardly ever equaled and never beaten. The best Noodles ever. Also try there Dumplings — outstanding!!!

Best dumplings in town — $ 12 for the 20 is great value and the lady is sitting st the front making them — soups are lovely and spicy with fresh noodles — small restaurant so u may have to wait for a seat or takeaway and sit in the park across the road

Eden noodles is a small, hot restaurant that you often have to wait for tables at, but it’s definitely worth making the effort for. Once you’re seated, the food comes really quickly. We always get the handmade dan dan noodles with pork mince, and have also tried the fungi(when they check you’re okay with super spicy, they mean it) and the dumplings in spicy sauce, all of which have been fantastic. There’s probably other good stuff too, but finding out would require not ordering the Dan Dan, and I’m just not willing to do that. There’s a few dishes that aren’t spicy, but the bulk of the dishes really are. You can ask for them ‘medium’ but their version of medium is still pretty darn hot. But delicious, oh so delicious. If waiting for a table is not your thing, or you don’t love the idea of eating spicy food in a restaurant that can feel like a sauna, you can get everything to takeaway too

I have never had a better experience eating Chinese food in my life. Cheap, genuine, high quality, And large portions are what await a foodie sojourner who ventures into this incredible establishment. The«noodles and sweet sauce» caused what can only be described as a cacophony of flavor which left me salivating and at an utter loss for words. Try it, be amazed.

every time i come here i order their dumplings in a hot chilli sauce(slightly sweet but not like the typical sweet chilli sauce) a.k.a. zhong shui jiao, in a LARGE to MYSELF and then a bowl of dandanmian(can be asked to have extremely mild spiciness) also to MYSELF. because YOLO. if you got the spiciest you really would only live once. but still a heavenly way to go. hahaha by burning yourself inside out hahah. I really recommend you start from the mild first because i eat spicy food but even their least spicy dishes are really intense. In summer, eating at this restaurant is TORTURE. you’re sweating from the spicy food but its always SCORCHING hot inside, you sweat like a waterfall in there. There are wall fans but i have never seen them use it lol. Now we ALWAYS order food via phone(and apparently you can online too) and then go to pay and pick up. SOOOOO much better than eating at the restaurant. There is almost ALWAYS a line here. i drive past here after work everyday and everyday i see people either lining up outside for a table or inside to make takeaway orders. So prepare for a wait. but a well deserved wait if you’re into the whole spicy northen chinese noodle joint(joint meaning shop, not the drug. love not drugs, guys)

Who cares about the service the wait very basic décor or that no one speak much english. The fact that there are no kiwis always packed to the brim with chinese is a sure fact its genuine and authentic taste. That alone and great price is why I return proudly introducing my friends. Spicy dumpling amd cold noodle 2 favorites dishes Enjoy don’t be shy come in

OMG. I spent three months living and studying in Chongqing(Sichuan province), China. I ate some of the spiciest food in my entire life when I lived there. Eden Noodles is the 2nd spiciest I’ve had. It is difficult to find authentic Chinese outside of China. Eden Noodle, however, is the best outside of China and is icing on the cake as far as I am concerned. I’ve had the hand pulled pork noodles, the«Chinese Hamburger» and the dumplings and all three exceeded my expectations. The Sichuan pepper and the zing is in full force in all three dishes(even if you ask for less spicy, word of warning). This is definitely on my top list of cheap eats, and when I feel nostalgic about China it definitely satisfies my craving. This place is not for first dates, unless you know the person you are taking out likes extremely spicy food. Not just spicy food, because a lot of people claim that. They have to like REALLY spicy food. I suppose this place would also be good to test it out. Also, don’t wear white unless you want chilli stains on your shirt. You have been warned.

Came here hoping that it would live up to the rating of its previous reviews, and recommendations we had received from others. Not disappointed at all!!! Thought it may have been busier for a Saturday night but it was not so bad and we did manage to get a table.(There was no queue out the door).A little later though people were waiting. The menu has a good selection of dishes and reasonably priced too. From ordering to food on the table is quick. Chose the white fungi(yinergeng, 银耳羹), sauces chicken(koushuiji, 口水鸡), dandan noodle(dandanmian, 担担面) and chinese pancake(roujiamo, 肉夹馍) 。 All were delicious but the spicy dishes not as spicy as I thought they would be. Or maybe my tolerance to spicy food has increased over time… All in all deserving of its high rating and definitely shouldn’t be too long before we are back again.

If u travel to a country without learning its language, the most efficiency way to find the genuine flavor is to read untranslated menus. Follow this rule, I found so many native bars and restaurants when I was traveling in Indonesia and Thailand. I had to use body language and pointed to dishes on other tables, that works somehow! Even overseas for times, I was born and raised in Chongqing, where neighboring Sichuan, as well as the same flavor dishes with it. So I specially came here for celebrating the Chinese moon festival and satisfy my homesick stomach. I saw their menu in Chinese and talked with a Sichuan accent chief here, I knew that my car definitely parked in a right place. Despite of their famous dandan noodle, I highly recommend zhong shuijiao,钟水饺 or zhong dumplings, which was exactly the same as Sichuan’s. Because they had their own oil-chilly sauce. That’s the most important thing for every noodle restaurant in Sichuan. This is the place where don’t like the other so-called Sichuan cuisines, if u wanna try the real Sichuan flavor, just be here.

Far and away the most authentic Chinese food(sichuan) you can find in Auckland, and you can’t beat the price either! For a very reasonable price, you can get a MASSIVE bowl of noodles. They have an almost overwhelming amount of noodles to choose from. I was even more impressed when I discovered that they have 酸汤水饺(suan tang shui jiao — dumplings in a hot and sour broth). This was my favorite dish from when I went to China and they tasted almost exactly the same! I was VERY impressed. I’m sure they had a whole bunch of other authentic goodies on their massive menu that I didn’t even notice or visit enough to try. It’s helpful to go with someone who can speak/read Mandarin because they only have a few English menus and all the employees speak Mandarin and not much English. There is always a line out the door, and you often have to wait a bit to find a place to sit, but those are good signs… you know the food is good when people are willing to do that! If I had lived closer to Mt Eden or owned a car, I would have frequented this place countless more times, it’s THAT good. If you live in Auckland and don’t try this place, you are missing out BIGTIME! LOVEIT!

This place is far enough away from the ‘cool’ Chinese restaurant strip of Dominion Road that you’d think it’d be quiet but no, even at 8pm on a Wednesday Eden Noodles Café has a queue out the door. The food is excellent(especially if you like any possible combination of meat, noodles and chilli), and this makes up for the somewhat utilitarian setting. It’s cheap, too — five dishes, a big meal for three people, was only $ 32. And yes, before you ask, they have dumplings — although not quite as Barilla and New Flavour have led you to expect. These ones are served in a spicy Szechuan pepper sauce which adds a tingly zest to the dumplings. Only possible complaint: it took them a long time to sort out our order when it came to pay. I don’t know why ours was so hard — other people paid and left easily, but for us for some reason it took simply ages to work out what a third of thirty-two dollars is…
