From February to November every year, the Auckland Research Centre(that lives in the Central City Library) presents these fortnightly talks about how to research your family history. Guest speakers and in-house experts present specialist advice and particular topics that cover heaps of different areas of genealogy. In case you didn’t already know, the Auckladn Research Centre is the place to go in Auckland for free advice about genealogy research, getting access to online family history databases, and accessing the library’s tonnes and tonnes of old stuff, like newspapers and photos. The talks are a good way to see if you might be interested in family history research without committing yourself at all, or for people who are more advanced in the game. Also, they’re an excellent opportunity to meet like-minded people!
