Mushrooms, toast, eggs scrambled is beautifully done and absolutely delicious. Cap it off with one of Jackie’s smooth flat whites and your set for an energy buzz that will take you well into the afternoon.

This place was very overpriced with bad service! I ordered a bagel with cream cheese, tomato & avocado. Not only did I wait 45(!) minutes for it but I also literally was served a bagel sliced in half, a blob of cream cheese on the side and a tomato so I could also assemble it myself. So just to get it right: I waited 45 minutes to get a bagel and some toppings so I can fix my own breakfast for about 12 – 15 Dollars. And I am very understanding if places are crammed but there were 4 other tables occupied– that’s it. Really sad experience at Five Loaves.

A great location, off the beaten track in a historic part of Devonport, 5 loaves always produces a great coffee and a good array of counter food. I haven’t tried anything from the menu but it always looks good. There is a decent box of toys and books for the kids and the staff are always really friendly. Well worth a visit

Five Loaves sits at the base of Mount Victoria and is only a short walk away from the waterfront so its perfect for a coffee-stop on your morning walk. Good coffee and friendly service are the marks of a great café to me and they have both but to be honest I really only ever come here for the Almond Croissants, they’re so good I haven’t managed to try much else! They do catering, the café is clean and tidy, and the rest of the menu sounds delicious if not on the pricey side. Definitely worth a look-in.
