It’s a hostel. Taking that into consideration, it is one of the nicest hostels I’ve stayed in. The staff was friendly, the room was clean, the bathrooms stayed relatively clean and were cleaned daily. Noise was never a problem. Location was good too. Plenty of pillows and blankets. There was a limit on free WiFi, which was fine. Knocked off one star because it was supposed to be 30 free minutes per day, which again would have been fine had it actually worked that way, but it took more than 24 hours to reset to get that 30 free minutes. Not sure how that timing works, but it normally took more than a day to be able to log back on.

Being a hostel, the room was to be expected. It was small but clean. It would be great if they can add some more furniture to the rooms. The staff there are amazingly helpful and friendly. It was not as noisy as I’d anticipated.

After living for months on end on the European backpacker trail, my expectations of hostels are depressingly low. Filthy, noisy, unfriendly staff members — these things are standard procedure around Europe. Yet, the right combination of people in your room and the fact that you are in a novel place can lead you to having the time of your life. Jucy defies the filthy hostel paradigm. At the Jucy Hotel, the good times roll and it is clean! Despite being called a hotel, it is most definitely a hostel — shared bathrooms and bunk beds. Nice kitchen and common room area, complete with all kinds of foreigners who talk about you in their own language — everything you want from a hostel. My only complaint would be the Internet service — an hourly rate with a sub par connection.
