La vista is a usual spot a friend and I head to during the summer after our walks on the beach. Quick smoothie and a bite to eat and your good to go. Family visiting from out of town so I brought them here, I had the seafood chowder(delish!) my sister had the chicken panini and my nephew had chicken nuggets and chips. Able to sit outside and enjoy your meal, water bowl for your dog too if need be. They provided felts and colouring paper for my nephew too so that’s a bonus. Location too is a plus!

Spontaneously went here while wandering around St Heliers with a girlfriend looking for a place to have dinner. It had live music, great ambience and an Entrée and main deal for $ 39. Service was really attentive. I ordered prawns(perfectly cooked!) and a slow cooked lamb shank(delicious and generous). We stayed til closing cause the music was still going and people started to dance. I would recommend it for dinner. I think it was priced well for how good the food was. Plus you can’t beat the location.

Went for breakfast recently and was really disappointed. The food was below the standard that I would cook at home, the place was freezing, and the prices were steep for the quality level delivered.

La Vista is a handy local of mine, suitable for a semi-casual night out for dinner. It is most probably best suited to a dinner for two, although good for families also. I can think of better places for big groups of friends. There is a great variety of seating spots from outdoors right on Auckland’s waterfront, to just inside with views across the harbour, plenty of indoor seating, and finally a small courtyard at the rear — which I think is used for larger groups. The meals are excellent value for money, with classic European fare. Previously they have had a great deal of an entrée and main for $ 30, a bargain!
