This is probably one of the best place to have your meal at anytime. I had its pork belly for dinner and it did not disappoint at all. The craft beer is good too. Would definitely go back there. Truly worth the price that I paid for.

We sat outside and felt as though we were a bit forgotten about, but the delicious food just about made up for that!

Food is excellent here. You can’t go wrong. The pancakes, oysters and prose I was flowing so I can hardly complain about this one. It is my go to for Devonport to be honest.

The location is nice but the was just ok. It might be what we ordered which was mussel Frittata I didn’t like the taste but then I don’t like mussel. The staff very nice. Everything was freshly made.

I have been here a few times for breakfast and dinner. The vegetarian eggs bene is most excellent. Potatoes, mushroom and spinach perfectly complement the poached eggs and nice crusty bread. Orange juice is fresh squeezed and local. I’m astounded every time how quick the service is. Really great spot.

Outstanding breakfast and lunch. The portions are a good size but best of all they are super tasty. I have had the eggs benny and Manuka smoked chicken. Both were sensational. The service can be a bit spotty but overall a great experience.

Very busy for a Sunday of a long weekend. One of the busiest cafes on the strip and no surprises there — very good menu, great coffee and staff are friendly and quick about what they do. Food is fine although both orders had errors — such as asked for butter, not cream cheese and husband asked for no grilled tomato. Minor problems really. All in all, very pleasant experience for brunch.

We walked by Manuka this morning on our self-guided tour around Devonport. Seeing how busy it was, we mentally bookmarked it for a potential lunch spot. Boy, were we glad we did! This spot is on point. The hubby and I shared half a dozen oysters, a seafood chowder, and a steak sandwich. Hey, after a walk around a huge chunk of this hilly island, we were starving! Don’t judge us! Our three dishes(+ a couple of NZ tap beers) was just right and oh so tasty. So glad we decided to eat here. And after a short walk over to a disappointingly closed chocolate factory, we ended up coming back for some dessert. The cheesecake-brownie square and the white chocolate-macadamia square were so delectable. Simply heavenly.

Let me start saying this was my first emotional experience with food. It was so good it made me misty-eyed. Auckland was sunny today, so that meant I should get up and do something. So I hopped on the ferry, asked a local for the best café, and headed down the street, past the hotel, across the first intersection. I read through the menu, thinking the smoked chicken with avocado, tomato, and brie sounded phenomenal if I could get it as a salad, which I did. IT. WAS. SO. GOOD. I can’t even find words to describe the chicken; «delicious» would be an understatement, «decadent» wouldn’t do it justice. I told them I would be back for their sesame chicken salad, which was delicious, but I kept my wits about me on that one. SMOKEDCHICKENWITHBRIE. UMG.

Have eaten a few times in here now, portions are nice and filling. Dessert was very rich, again portion size just right. Staff gave us plenty of time to choose and then change our mind. Would eat here again.

Manuka is somewhat of a stalwart in Devonport — it’s been around for years and whenever I’ve visited the service and food has remained solid and scrummy. The best thing on the menu is their selection of wood-fired pizzas, which are perfect for sharing with their delicious fries with aioli. My favourite pizza is the ‘Manuka’ — salmon, marinated in herbs and spices, home-smoked and served with capers, cream cheese and dill. And the best thing is it tastes healthier than your standard, greasy pizza! They also do a good brunch/lunch menu if you’re dining during the day, and great coffee.

On my rare visits to Devonport, I have frequently visited Manuka. It has always provided solid service and food to date, and seems like the ideal place to go for my trip over the bridge. Seated outside, we are quickly tended to by the extremely friendly water and drinks are served. Having familiar staff always seems to add something to the experience also, giving a sense of consistency. I have ordered the pizza many times and is very enjoyable sitting outside on the street in the sun with a beer. The pizza is very traditional, with the thin base and light topping. Although it is a large enough to give my stomach a decent hit. For some reason Devonport strikes me as a place seriously lacking in waterfront cafes, of a decent quality also. Manuka does it justice though, just close enough to see the water and get that waterfront vibe.

Situated in the heart of Devonport on the bustling Victoria Road(well it’s bustling compared to the rest of Devonport anyway). Seating on the pavement means you are the unlikely sandwich filling between busy traffic and a constant stream of pedestrians. This also means the waiting staff have to run a gauntlet through to the tables, which looks awkward at best and pure terrifying when serving food! Look past the environment and you are greeted with a menu offering a variety of mouth watering treats. If you are stuck for inspiration, go for the chicken pie, it is the best pie I have had in, oh, let’s say a couple of years. A delicious creamy filling topped with perfectly cooked puff pastry didn’t just hit the spot, it redefined the target. The quality of the food more than makes up for the noisy surroundings.

I decided I wanted to go to Devonport for a change of scenery. While we were there we saw this lovely big restaurant with lots of outdoor seating in the sun so we decided to stop for a coffee. Both my boyfriend and I got mocha coffees as a treat, the guy serving us was so friendly and funny. The coffees took a wee while, but we didn’t mind because we were enjoying sitting outside in the sun. When they arrived however, they looked like art with a kiwiana style design on the top, so cool! They also tasted incredible and came with a little chocolate fish on the side, which is nicer than the regular marshmallows. I definitely want to come back here to try their food, because if it is anything like their coffees I can imagine it’s amazing!

Devonport has a great reputation in Auckland. It’s a beautiful little seaside town filled with stunning villas and friendly faces. It is kind of surprising that there aren’t more really good restaurants down here. But then the people of Devonport don’t like anything that is likely to draw heaps of people. The introduction of a Subway was a huuuggggeee deal. Manuka is a good restaurant. It holds many great memories for me and was always the go-to for my friends and I. Sit out the front and watch the world go by, or grab a table inside. The service is made up of foreign travelers and Devonport natives making for a fun and friendly environment. The pizzas are sooo delicious and they have some of the best fries and aioli I’ve had. They are open for breakfast lunch and dinner and seriously do every time of the day well. Meals are fresh, tasty and generous. and They don’t break the bank. Manuka is a safe choice that will always satisfy, and in a great location to boot.
