Worst place to eat in Auckland, that’s wot I thought ab this place after eating from here and that is not all, they had the Worst customer service too, the boy at the counter was sleepy and not at all attentive, anyways food was unhygenic enough to give me and my partner diarrhea.

The first time I went into Mithai was for a quick in-​house meal whilst in the area, we ate curries, no surprises there, it was a-​ok, but nothing to rave about. The reason I am giving this place four stars is to do with their speciality sweet food. A huge range filled the glass cabinets and many gift packs were lined up above their heads behind the counter. I didn’t have time then to fill my belly with sugary treats but it was the first place I thought of when Diwali came around last year. At the time I was working with two women originally from India and one of them was very passionate about the festival, so I bought a box of barfi to share. It was very delicious! I have had barfi before elsewhere and this was one of the best I have tried. When I went in you could tell it was the festive season, the place was packed! And one of the owners was handing out taste tests. The place had a wonderful crazy happy atmosphere. The tables that customers would normally dine at were filled with boxes of sweet treats ranging from around $ 10 to no more than $ 70 if I remember correctly. I look forward to going back in the future some time.
