The food was terrible. I order Nasi Lemak is totally look different from the menu. I only got 3 little piece of curry chicken, 6 peanut, 6 little fish. The menu look more. Cher Kway Teow have no taste. Roti Canai the skin is hard. The serve is horrible. I just finish my food they took away my silver ware. I have to tell them that I still have other stuff to come. It seem like they try to rush you out. I taste better in other Malaysia restaurant.

It’s a Morden fast Asian food eatery, mainly from the southeastern part of Asia. Very convenient if u need a quick and clean bite before go to the shows or movies around. It’s a fast food place but not a food court, has service, proper table. The price is slightly higher. But u can go with group, couple or just on your own. Very much like the fast food place in hk or Singapore etc, mid range. Food is not bad but not enough I found.

PappaRich has hit Auckland! A highly raved about Malaysian family eatery almost reminiscent of Denny’s. A few days ago at a blogger’s lunch, I was lucky to sample most of the menu. Ordering is easy. The menu is massive because every dish has an accompanying photo. Even kids can point and order exactly what they feel like. You fill the order yourself and push a button to get the attention of the wait staff. Excellent. As a fast paced almost ADHD person, there’s no need for me to jiggle my leg while I try to flag down someone. We started off with fried chicken skin. Holy crap. On other days I would have steered right away from this heart attack, but I’m so glad the foodie in me won. We all know chicken skin is the best part of KFC chicken and it always irks me when people tear it right off. These were super addictive — crunchy and not greasy at all. The fat under the skin must have melted right off. Follow my mantra: Gym furiously, eat furiously. One of the highlights is their roti canai. There’s a wide variety you can order. Ones filled with egg and onion as featured above(roti teur bawang) and sugar dusted ones(roti planta). My favourite was the roti canai with beef rendang. I put the swirl of roti to good use to mop up the sauce and beef that fell apart beautifully. Heaven. Flavours were a bit of a hit or miss. After trying their laksa and noodles with sweet sauce(above), other fried rice and noodle dishes were a little bland in comparison. The shaved ice came impressively surrounded by all kinds of toppings including grass jelly, red bean paste, lychee and sweet corn. I had been warned that sweet corn with shaved ice would be an acquired taste. Personally it didn’t bother me, I had taste tested too many of my own quirky combinations in my kitchen. One dessert I’d advise you to keep to yourself is their egg sago pudding. All my favourites in a coconut base. PappaRich is in an ideal location under Skycity Cinemas as part of the Skycity Metro complex. Ideal for a quick bite in town before a movie or any other event, it’s affordable and tasty. I wouldn’t hesitate to go back again.

A famous Malaysia franchise from Australia finally opened in Auckland! Extensive menu with many drink options. We had papparich chicken with flat rice noodle and a red chicken rice. The flat noodle soup is nice with chicken and prawn soup base, the chicken was abit blanc and tough. However the red chicken taste really good and not something i can find in other Malaysia restaurants. We also tried their milk tea… it’s really nice! Just remember this place doesn’t take bookings and it gets really busy so you can expect to wait for about 15 to 30 mins to be seated…

PappaRich is the new Malaysian to hit Auckland from the Australian chain. A heavy black folder yields a huge compendium of options, page after page of traditional Malaysian dishes. Glossy photos of most dishes take the guesswork out of ordering. You will need to write down your own order on the notepad provided which reminds me of being in a Bingo game. Press the green button to summon the staff and a uniformly dressed waiter will run over to retrieve your order. The service was not so quick considering we got there before the lunch masses. The curries come on a metal tray resembling something from in a prison but the contents were great. I could have done with a little more chicken for $ 14, I got 3 small pieces only. There’s some impressive flakiness going on with the Roti, the billowy light pastry perfect for soaking up any sauce. The chutney had some almighty kick. I’d like to go back and try a Laksa and noodles to at least try a good cross section of the menu.
