We have been staying in Newmarket for over a month and I’ve been to this butcher a couple times. I’m stopping by tomorrow for more pork ribs for my Memphis rub. Their organic meats are delicious and the owner knows what he’s doing. I’ve tried their pork ribs, house made sausages, fillet and scotch steak, and lamb chops. Call ahead to see if they’ve got what you’re looking for… if they don’t, they can probably get it for you the next day! I’ll update their opening and closing hours on Unilocal after I visit them tomorrow. Today(Tues) they are open til 6pm(not 7pm) and tomorrow(Wed) they are open at 7am.

This awesome butcher makes me pine for pre-supermarket days. Brian and Wayne are friendly and know their stuff. They also have the best stash in town. If I need some special gear for a party this is where I go. I don’t want to let my friends down with bad meat! Everyone, except for vegetarians, vegans and crazy people, knows that meat is super-delicious. With that in mind why would you pay top dollar to buy tasteless meat from the supermarket. Trust me, whether your jonesing for gourmet sausage or a lamb chop, ditch the big chains and go old school. Whether you want an ounce or a pound! Disclaimer: ensure sausages are thoroughly cooked before consuming!

I don’t even friggen eat meat and yet I know that this Superior Meat Market is the absolute best meat shop in the greater Ponsonby area. It just seems like an incredibly awesome meat market. It’s actually lucky that it’s so friggen great, given the fact they named themselves«Superior» Meat Market. They sell all of the primary meat types including: pig, cow, sheep, etc. Less of the obscure meats, but who gives a crap about that anyway. The main thing I like is their incredible signage. Great job Superior Meat Market. Great job. If I ate meat, I would definitely get ALL of my meat from this sensational little meat market.
