I used to frequent this place when I was still living on the shore, not so much any more. Well that and because the place is crawling with what seem to be little kids these days, or maybe I am just getting old. Or a little bit of both? This is the Massey University bar and it always has cool events on here, most recently ‘Sounds of the Underground’ which actually had a really decent line up and it looked fun from the photos I saw. Otherwise when there is not events on and it is just your standard Friday or Saturday night this place might be a bit dead due to it being quite far out. But if you are a first or second year uni student then this is definitely the place for you!

The Ferguson, aka Fergs, is the student bar of Massey University. As an Auckland Uni student, I can’t say I frequent Fergs, but have made the odd visit over the last couple of years. It does benefit from being pretty new, so it’s nice and big, decent enough fit-​out for a student bar, and it has a nice outdoor area for those long afternoons. However, it does suffer a bit for being in the middle of nowhere (same could be said for the whole university), and it does tend to attract an underage crowd. Decent enough though, and pretty good value.
