The Hamptons literally came from nowhere. It is a pop up restaurant on Shortland Street, Central city which is truly home to the big city businessman. You will find this place packed with suits on a lunch break or having an after work drink. This is a rather high end establishment so be sure to be wearing something nice and not the t shirt dress that I was unfortunately clothed with as I went here last minute. In my opinion the coolest thing about this place is that they serve fries as potato chips that you find in supermarket packets and served in those mini deep fryer things. Quite novelty I thought and hadn’t seen anything like it before. They were also delicious. The actual place is lovely. It offers adequate shading or sun areas and the decorating is beautiful — big flower pieces placed around and overall a very relaxed and classy vibe.

I found this relaxing little spot after a meeting in town, not because I was looking for it, but because it’s incredibly hard to miss. It’s a beautiful looking outdoor restaurant with big white umbrellas, fairy lights, large wooden tables as well as brightly coloured stools placed all around. They were only serving their casual menu when I went in around 3pm, so I just thought I would grab a coffee and share a serving of their fries with my friend. The fries arrived and they were so unique! They were served in a small silver frying basket and the fries themselves were like nothing I have had before. They were round like the potato they came from, lattice or cross shaped, crunchy on the outside and fluffy on the inside as well as absolutely delicious! The service was great, the atmosphere was wonderful and I thoroughly enjoyed my afternoon at The Hamptons, I will be recommending to all!
