Great experience and superb feel. Staff are friendly and helpful. Felt at home straight away. Oh and they have a few options to choose from;)

Very nice classy underground bar. They have 500 kinds of whiskey with range range of prices starting at «a bit high.» Bar staff knows their stuff. Clientele looks sophisticated and is in a rather different age bracket from the Roxy next door.

This was a stumble upon. Open for only 5 weeks, the Jefferson reminds me of some classy bar/lounge in Boston. There are hundreds of whiskey/rye/bourbon/scotch to pick from that they don’t even bother to have a menu! One thing I really appreciated was the knowledge and the price range. Our waitress asked what flavours we liked and the price range, and then she brought us back 3 – 4 bottles with options to pick from. Since I do not know a lot about whiskey I can see this being my new«go to» for continuing education.

Oh my… An underground bar in the heart of the city dedicated to whiskey, bottles and bottles of it! Moody lighting, booth seats, an enormous bar with seating and an American-inspired menu — think pork, beef or lamb ribs, crumbed mac ‘n cheese, corn and shrimp frites. Definitely have to return to sample the food, but for now I’m just enjoying an expertly made Sammy Javis Jr — an ice old chocolate espresso martini with a hint of hazelnut and a couple of whiskey shots, the best I’ve had.

The Jefferson is a fantastic new addition to the Fort Lane lineup. They are on point with a swanky vibe, a great staff, a bigger selection than one could dream of, and very tasty cocktails. They are only 5 weeks old at this point, but they were buzzing and the vibes are already all there. From bartenders to door man, the staff is incredibly professional. The bartenders were chatty and knowledgable, albeit a bit slow(that’s where I knock one star off, because I missed a solid 20 minutes with my friends waiting for my negroni, to the point where everyone commented about how long it took when I finally got back to the table). I think that just comes with how new the place is, so I wouldn’t let that keep me from returning. The drinks were priced as you’d expect for a speakeasy establishment on Fort Lane. They are a decent size though, and pack the right amount of punch, so no complaints. They also have plenty of space for groups, so don’t be shy if you’ve got a crowd with you! I’ll keep The Jefferson in mind for the next fancy outing I’m planning.

The Jefferson earns 5 stars just on it’s whiskey/rye/bourbon/scotch selection in tandem with their incredibly well-trained bartenders who seem to know about every bottle by heart. It’s always wonderfully refreshing when you meet a bartender who is one by professional trade and not just doing it to pay the bills while they launch their career as an artist or muso. It sort of has that Mad Men basement lounge feel to it. Very classy but laid back and confident in what it is. It’s a great place to have a drink or where to end up for a night-cap. And yet, the food offering is pretty good at representing the traditional American fare the menu is inspired by. We only had the pork ribs but would definitely like to go back to try the beef ribs. The mac n’ cheese, fried pickles, and barbecue sauce were very Stateside reminiscent but still had their own kiwi twist. I would say come to try to food, but stay to try the whiskey and the high standard of service.

A new whisky/bourbon bar in town. The bottles they have are amazing. The staff are friendly and helpful. If you want a bite to eat as well do try the restaurant. The ribs are beautiful with the meat just falling off the bone. Well worth going to.
