The main purpose of us dining at The Postman’s Leg was because we wanted to try their Quiz Night. I would be lying if I said I enjoyed the food. I ordered the Classic Beef Burger which cost $ 16.50 which did not include any fries — was not very happy with this, the beef pattie was dry and all you can taste is charcoal and I believe was not worth the $ 16.50, Burger fuel has burgers that cost less and taste better, not to mention the size of the burger. My other team mates ordered other various burgers and they weren’t too pleased either — the main problem was the meat was too dry, maybe they can think about putting the chutney/sauce on top of the meat in the bun? We also ordered dessert — for the amount you are paying you would expect a rather generous portioned sized serving. We were severely disappointed — a couple of the team ordered the«Chocolate, Chocolate, Chocolate», which you get a slice of cheesecake, a small spoonful of chocolate mousse and a cookie. The only thing chocolate about it was the mousse and the sauce that was drizzled around it. In conclusion, we probably won’t be going back to this venue — the food was mediocre, however the atmosphere was pretty good — the host was good and there were a lot of teams.

Glenfield’s local watering hole, but most importantly the venue for Bitchin’ Bingo once a month with Mistress Viv! Offering pub-style meals, warm atmosphere and easy parking.

Had dinner with 12 people. Food didn’t take to long to arrive, however my my ribs came without any sauce and my wife’s pizza came missing various toppings. Post mains things took a turn for the worse, we had to find our waitress to be able to order dessert! Service is thoroughly lacking, doesn’t seem that staff have much care in the world. A larger table behind us waited over 2 hours for their mains to arrive, only to have to send them back… Such a disappointment as the food was actually quite nice, pity they fail at everything else.

Family friendly, casual and everything kiwi. This bar always blows my mind. It has such a fantastic atmosphere and large outdoor space. It’s designed to look like someone’s backyard(even features a giant washing line in the entrance way). This bar caters for all. If you’ve got kids you’re in luck as it’s such a great space for the kids to run around in and at the same time intimate enough to have a nice dining experience. They serve all the typical gastro pub styled food, yet still very nice to consume! Pricing is average but no more than anywhere else. Great staff that are friendly and always recommending food and drink which is always a great help. If you’ve never been this place is truly a destination.

Hmmm… LOVE the look of the place. Expansive outdoor garden area with tables, a sandpit for the kiddies & a stage for bands to play weather permitting. Visited the Postman’s Leg yesterday for a birthday party. It was a busy Sunday afternoon, especially since it was ‘International Childrens Day’ & they had advertised a bouncy castle, face painting and a balloon artist for the kids. Reading reviews on I was wary about this place & purposefully didn’t arrive with much of an appetite. Seeing as the occasion was a lunch & the rest of the table were eating, we ordered a tandoori chicken pizza($ 22.90) to share between my partner and I. We noticed a server carrying pizzas to another table & our hearts immediately sank. They looked tiny but we had already ordered. When our pizza arrived we weren’t surprised that it only looked to be about 10 inches in diameter. For $ 22.90 I felt completely ripped off. The sauce and cheese were tasty enough but there were large bubbles covering the base which made the toppings lop-sided and left parts of the pizza bare. The pieces of ‘tandoori’ chicken were so bone dry they were inedible. Seriously. Like so dry that I didn’t have enough saliva left in my mouth to swallow it and I had to spit it into my napkin. When we informed the server of this her reply was«oh yes, we have had quite a few complaints about this recently». No apology, no offer of a discount or free drinks. The other diners at our table had mixed reviews of their food, with two of them saying their steaks were incredibly tough. Everyone agreed the prices were very steep for the quality of the food. Glancing into the kitchen through the window it was apparent why our meals were lacking. No one in the kichen looked older than 21. The Postman’s Leg is a great looking place, but they can’t solely rely on this to keep the punters coming back. We will not be returning anytime soon.

I was slightly disappointed when the Glenfield Village Tavern closed down, as it had a rugged, slightly sleazy charm to it. It was a real tradies bar, and you could enjoy a cold beer while watching the latest sporting event, and they frequently held interesting and exciting events. The replacement is the very shoosh Postman’s Leg, and while the food is much better and the service now visible, it will never be the same. The Postman’s Leg does cater for quiz fans like myself and they offer interesting items on their menu. My favourite being the pork crackling and the utmost of decadence… The Pavlova Pina Colada. Yum! Okay, it is much better, and the old place was a dump.

Glenfield has needed this place forever — a nice, inviting place to come in for a proper meal and a drink that isn’t a bloody fast food chain!!! I’ve no idea why it’s taken so long to get something like this in Glenfield — I think it’s something to do with that fugly, monolithic mall sucking all the life out of the surrounding streets. Anyway, this place used to be the Glenfield Tavern which was like somewhere you might find Jake the Muss having a Lion Red(okay, slight exaggeration). Now the ugly duckling has turned into the proverbial swan — it’s the Postman’s Leg now(apparently after a legendary local amputee postman) and it’s really rather good. It’s an inviting place now with a vast amount of outdoor space, and a nice relaxed décor inside. It’s even child friendly — there’s a sandpit to play in and everything. In short, it’s a perfect fit for a suburb of families. The food is good honest gastropub fare — think steak, ribs, pizzas, burgers; and the drinks menu is extensive. Service was slow, but very smiley, so we didn’t mind — it was busy for the Wednesday quiz night. In all, this is a wonderful addition to a suburb deprived of good restaurants. The instant popularity is a testament to how much Glenfield has needed this place.
