Enjoyed great service and superb food here. Been to breakfast and lunch. Great steak with true taste of quality. You have to try Salmon Croissant for breakfast. See pics bellow

The classic Christchurch dessert destination. Expect to wait for a table if you don’t book, but it’s worth it! Staff are friendly and the setting is cosy but comfortable and quiet. Limited parking though.

One of my favorite breakfast/brunch spots in Christchurch. Delicious Eggs Benny, *incredible* French Toast, and very decadent coffee concoctions. I’ve been told that it’s equally amazing for lunch and dinner, but have not personally tried those meals. And the desserts are one of the main draws.

We have always talked about coming here for brunch when we pass by. So glad we finally did! Such a lovely place. You get to sit above street level and get a nice view of Hagley Park. The food we had was amazing and the prices weren’t crazy. We both had 2 mimosas, a mocha, a flat white, fritters, and French toast. Everything was made well and tasted excellent. I can’t wait to come here for dinner! Definitely try it out.

Worse service ever we had a birthday party there only 7 of us, they forgot orders, forgot our table and left us waiting along time for food, so disappointed as I had heard great things. When I expressed my unhappiness it was blown off with just oh sorry bout that, will not spend a single cent there again.

This is absolutely one of my favorite restaurants in Christchurch. It is the perfect spot for all occasions: anniversary, Sunday brunch, casual afternoon catch-up with a friend, drinks and especially dessert! The second story seems to attract a little bit of a nicer-dressed crowd while the lower level seems to be for those who just rolled out of bed or came from a workout. I wouldn’t come here in anything less than a nice pair of jeans, at least. Strawberry Fare prides itself on serving local, fresh and organic food whenever possible, so you won’t find fresher food anywhere else. For breakfast I have tried the french toast(which I think is their best breakfast item), the BET(which just seemed plain, though the flavors are nice), the blueberry pancakes which are delicious and looks like the batter is poured over a scoop of large blueberries on the skillet. The Corn and Capsicum Fritters and Salmon Deluxe were huge favorites with my friends. For lunch I enjoyed the bruschetta and the summer chicken salad. The bruschetta is fresh and the summer salad is refreshing but also has large pieces of asparagus. For dessert I absolutely recommend the Sunken Chocolate Cake. It is gluten free and vegan, but you would never know. It is also beautifully decorated with thin, frozen honey drizzle. The little girls I was with devoured their ice cream sundaes(but who doesn’t love ice cream?) The cool thing about Strawberry Fare though is their baking school! You can take classes at the restaurant to learn to bake(almost) as good as their chefs. This is definietly an experience everyone must do! If you haven’t been to Strawberry Fare, put it next on your list — you’ll be glad you did!

Went for Saturday brunch and got a nice window seat. Decided to order BET — bacon eggs n tomato on kitchen’s own seeded bread. Figure if a restaurant can’t do basics, it’ll fail everywhere else. And it was quite nice. Eggs nicely poached, bacon crispy, tomatoes ok. But the bread is delicious. Pity they only served one piece!!!

Strawberry Fare used to be my favourite restaurant. Now they’re back, in a different location and it just feels very different. The vibe and atmosphere is different. The meals are limited and overpriced… the desserts are still very good and I would probably recommend just going for dessert. The lunch/dinner meals are good but the old menu had much more choice and the mains never seem to change. The service is also very slow. Nevertheless, still a great place to go.

Went here on a whim and I was very pleased. I had the beef filet and it was so tender!!! My dish also came with truffle mashed potatoes and asparagus(also amazing). For dessert, my boyfriend and I shared the Carmel and hazelnut torte. Wait staff was friendly and I think my only regret that night was that we didn’t order more dessert! Lol

This place is popular, and I have heard the desserts are awesome. I went for the bread pudding, which was pretty good, but not worth the $ 16.50 in my book. Ironically, it may be that crème anglaise, a special ice cream, and the sticky date bread and the caramel sauce is a bit much — and why raw bananas on top of all that? The place was packed though, so maybe other things on the menu are a home-run? Also, allow time for parking — there are only a handful of spots.
