There isn’t much to do in Martinborough except relax and enjoy some good wine from the area and Micro winebar is the place to tick all the boxes so a good tipple and friendly company. As per the name, the bar is intimate and cosy. The serve up local wines from the region and also some international labels. If wine is not your thing, there is boutique beers and ciders available. The menu consists of small share plates some as chickpea and feta spiced fritters, chicken bites and other nibbles, along with a weekly special. Micro has a relaxed atmosphere with its mood lighting and comfy seating. Every now and then the record gets changed and a good oldie tune is humming in the background. There are even blankets the keep your knees warm in winter! Micro has thought of everyone and developed a winning combination of tapas and wine for locals and tourists.

For a neighborhood tapas bar, Micro hits it on the bullseye. Providing a really good wine list comprised of mostly local wines and a short, but well-gathered beer collection is a start. However, it’s the little touches that inspire. The owners utilize the tiny space to their advantage… kitschy interior bar opens to a cozy patio complete with warm throw blankets to stave off the chilly nights. The tapas menu is absolutely worth a go, with delicious Asian inspired morsels that are made to order in-house and based on availability of fresh ingredients. Definitely try the sticky pork belly and snapper dumplings if they are offered. A great place to spend the afternoons and evenings. Lovely people behind the counters a big bonus!

Great spot for a great beer(@garageproject) and wonderful food. Like, REALLYGOOD. Best in Wairarapa, hands down. We had white anchovy wrapped around a grilled shallot(superb), the chicken poppers(I’m not a chicken guy, but Amanda is and she inhaled them) and endamame. Nice people, chill vibe.
