You’re better off going somewhere else to eat as food standards are definitely sub-par and not value for money. Locals generally go next door to Alamir’s for awesome food before a game. Alright for a drink and to watch a game. Their all you can eat ribs special during the week doesn’t taste the same as when you order it a-la-carte at normal prices when it’s cooked on the grill. The ribs on the special night are boiled and rolled in bbq sauce.

My partner and I went to celebrate my birthday last week(Dec ’14). As we had a reservation, we got taken to our table straight away. The waiter immediately brought us menus and water. For entrées we ordered the Squid and the Chicken Nibbles, which arrived promptly. The Chicken Nibbles are served with a couple of Carrot & Celery sticks and with blue cheese dip. Overall, they were very nice and we thoroughly enjoyed them. The Squid was soggy and had a strong uncooked flour taste. The serving was very small and not enjoyable at all. For mains, I got the Pulled Pork Burger and my partner ordered the Fish & Chips. The burger was fantastic. The meat was cooked and seasoned to perfection and the coleslaw was delicious. The chips was also really nice and crunchy. The fish was incredibly dry and its batter was very thick and not fully-cooked. It tasted horrible. We called the waiter and as soon as we said there’s a problem with the meal, he asked, «Is the fish dry?» He apologised, took the meal away, and gave us back the menu to select another dish. This is where I should mention that on Tuesday nights Gasworks have 2 for 1 main meals offer. My partner chose the Beef Burger, which arrived very promptly. The waiter confirmed that we won’t be charged for that meal without us asking him that. The burger was nice and it came with a very generous size patty and nice cut of bacon. We drank a couple of beers. When it came time to pay, the maitre’d had charged for all 3 meals. When my partner disputed it, the Manager arrived to explain that the fish is warehou, which is a dry fish and we shouldn’t have ordered it to begin with if we don’t like dry fish. He also explained that the fish gets changed regularly, to which we responded that the waiter never informed us what the fish of the day was. He still insisted that all 3 meals are paid for(and handed over a receipt as a confirmation of the total bill), completely disregarding their 2 for 1 deal, which was confirmed at the time of reservation. It was only when we blatantly refused to pay, when they removed these two meals from the total bill(a difference of over $ 50!!). I didn’t let this dampen my birthday, but I definitely wouldn’t return to their establishment. Common sense and customer service should’ve prevailed on this occasion. I do recommend you to read other Zomato and Facebook reviews before you decide to visit this place.

Was at gasworks with a friend for 241 night. I would think we would get food fresh food. NOPE! I order a chicken burger with chips. The chicken was so small on the sandwich you was almost not able to make it out and so over cooked and what did they do fill with aïoli sauce. Then I asked for some wing sauce and some blue cheese dressing. Last time I was there it was free nope not anymore. Now $.50 for small small dish of sauce on top of the $ 20 for a burger and chips. My friend got a prongs pasta dinner. 2 things with that meal one was it had old made him sick and very over cooked prongs in it, the other was they bring it out in this very big dish and there only about a cup or so of food in it. For $ 22 dollars I would think I would get a full plate. 1) Old food that will make you sick. 2) prices so over priced. 3) almost no food for what you pay.

Good place to have a beer for lunch but food is often bland and lacking flavor/seasoning. Nice patio outside for sunny days. Nice casual restaurant atmosphere.

Menu changes regularly, I’ve been to gasworks on many different occasions and seen it change sometimes for better sometimes for worse. The prices vary between menus sometimes between 3 – 5 dollars. The service also fluctuates between 10 mins for your food to come out to up to 2 hours. It’s getting harder and harder for me to get behind this place. Food wise it’s really good eats, everything if fresh, its just really hard to know how much your going to pay for it. I don’t know if its staffing changes /Chefs or Owners? I do really like the food here, but the unknown of how much its going to cost makes it harder and harder for me to keep coming back here. They also run deals throughout the week during dinner service. Dinner service also has a different menu where stuff is quite a bit more expensive. If your coming for Dinner make sure your coming for the deal and be ready to wait awhile. We came here on a Tuesday night once when it was 2 for one mains, and it ended up taking almost 3 hours. After that I just avoid this place during those deals.
