Fresh does make the world go round. This is a great Fruit World, the produce is always in really good condition(unless you want to but the really ripe fruits that they package up separately and place at the front and back of the store. They are really cheap and are great for freezing for smoothies, stewing or for making jam). This fruit world has more than just fruit and vegetables but also has a small grocery section too. There is a large section for grains, lentils and other pulses, nuts, dried fruits and spices, all natural and unprocessed. There is also a range of Italian and Japanese ingredients, oils, pastas and canned legumes. They stock fresh wraps, pita bread and they sell tofu. You could probably do most of your shopping here. If this is sounding too healthy there is also a junky section with candy, corn chips and cookie time cookies and I suspect they sell quite a bit of that stuff. The staff at the store are super friendly too and the prices are very good. What more can you ask for really?

Situated in an industrial area next to the Aussie Butcher, I probably wouldn’t have paid any attention if I hadn’t been driving past in a moment of veggie and fruit need. The blackboard signs outside promise bargains and the parking is vast but like I said, more importantly it was en route. These kinds of shops are everywhere in Auckland now and they are not all created equal. This one is great — lots of fresh fruit and vege with the full complement of Asian greens as well as the usual massive range of chilli sauces, soya sauces, pastes, tinned goods etc. Best of all the pricing is excellent and they have all the essentials — it’s no good going to a shop like this if you can’t get milk and bread as well. Oh, and $ 2.99 for a big bag of frozen Edamame beans — bargain!
