South KOREAN Owned and operated Japanese Restaurant… As a Food Lover, I’ve been to many Japanese restaurants. The REAL one, Owned and operated By Japanese. I’ve to say This place is NOT that good. If you are Hungry, and you don’t mind just to Find«» A Place«» to eat, this place is an option. But, NOT a First choice… Thanks for the South KOREAN Owner, anyway !!

A bit out of the way, but seeing as my boyfriend’s family lives in Orewa, I’m here fairly often. And if ever in Orewa, I will always ensure I eat something here! My favourite dishes(aside from sushi) are the chicken don buri and the chicken fried noodles. Both delicious. The chicken fried noodles have this amazing smoky flavour — and there’s always plenty of it. That usually means I’m stealing some rice off my boyfriend to soak it up at the end! If we’re there on a Saturday lunch time(always remember they’re not open on a Sunday — it’s devastating) I will usually grab some sushi. They make the most amazing salmon on rice(I have no idea what the proper name is… apologies) that’s sitting in this, again, smoky sauce. I make sure that I scoot it around the plate to ensure I get as much sauce as possible on the bottom. They also do a fantastic chicken katsu(though I personally think Musashi on the Shore will always win that contest). I don’t often eat onsite, but there’s nothing wrong with eating here. It has no atmosphere, so don’t expect that. It does its job kinda thing, you know? You could always take some food to the beach and chill out there — it’s located one block back from the beach. Lots of parking, kid friendly, totally recommend. Oh, and it’s not expensive either — Renkon prices. Less than $ 15 mains.
