Excellent location, however, that’s the most positive thing I have to say. Service was less than stellar. Plates weren’t ever cleared from the table(after waiting 30 minutes). Also, their menu was outdated; the first dish I attempted to order was no longer served, yet they had not updated their menus to show this. The food was quickly served with about a 10 minute waiting time. I ordered the lamb cutlets. The meat was cooked well, but the seasoning was severely lacking. It had a bland flavour and was overall completely uninteresting. My girlfriend ordered falafels and she said they were terrible, with barely any sauce and excess couscous that was dry and tasteless. Overall definitely disappointed with the overall experience and I would not recommend anyone else go here.

Great location across from the beach along with a host of other meal spots. The concept is fresh New Zealand food with craft beers. I had a grilled vegetables and halo I salad and my husband the cheeseburger … A $ 25 cheeseburger. It better be the best burger ever for that price tag. Food was good, but not good enough to be a destination. The service was pretty poor. We sat down and waited for awhile before going inside to ask for menus. After receiving menus we had to go in again to ask to order and again when we wanted the check. Not at all attentive. We watched other people leave after sitting down because the server never brought menus or checked in. Overall may or may not go back if if I were back in the area.

Well the location is great and maximum 20meters from the beach. They have a very nice selection of craft beers and if you like a bit hoppy try the IPA. Simply delicious. They serve also some finger foods which are nice chicken wings or stuff. Not gastronomy level but with a bunch of friends that will be perfect. enjoy.

I don’t really understand the negative reviews this place has gotten here! We had a really good experience when we went. I tried a few of the craft beers they offered on tap and they were all excellent. The food was really good too — the BBQ ribs in Jack Daniels sauce were so moreish and delicious! The décor is really cool and fits the beachside atmosphere pretty well. This place is definitely one of the nicest spots in the area to go for a drink or dinner, recommended!

Stopped off at this spot after a rainy tramp at a nearby park. This place looked like a winner — cozy atmosphere, nice interior deco… but sadly… NO. It’s possible their meat heavy dishes are the thing to go for here… or perhaps just a beer. The location is great, just across from the beach. However… the food we got was pretty icky. Everything was oil-logged. The fish sliders with fried fish seemed like the fish had gone into partially heated oil — the kiss of death, making them heavy and greasy. The chips and guac — just don’t get them. The chips seemed also very greasy and the guac was terrible. Straight out of a pre-made something or other. Slimy and not good. The only thing that saved us were the chips, the oil must have heated properly by the time they went in because surprisingly they weren’t too oily. Mushroom quesadilla was not very good… lukewarm and not much flavor to it. Service was not friendly. Prices were WAY high for what you get. Blergh. Won’t be back!

Poor service and lousy food! The fish sliders were oily and had a tarter sauce that was so bland I didn’t realize it was on the bread. The guacamole had the consistency of pea soup. No… just no! The tortilla chips had a curry powder on them and were poofed out with… more oil. My friend said his mushroom tortilla was served room temperature and was bland. Our server never came to ask if we needed anything. As the only ‘cool’ place in town, I would only venture back here to sample a pint of their house made brew. Maybe not even for that.
