Great spot for breakfast. Muesli was a highlight with plenty of fruit, honey yoghurt and milk. We found this place by accident after an unscheduled stop on way to Paihia and didn’t regret it.

Well considering its great location they’ll probably never be without customers.
But Im a local and theres not much to choose from in Orewa. So I decided to try them again as my first visit wasn’t very memorable.
The service was great this time, the food ok and the coffee again hot water and milk… tasteless. Its very cold there especially when its windy. The narrow front is all glass you’d think they would close the doors to retain some comfort for their customers but like last time I froze.
This could be a boomer with its location. Maybe it does boom at night. But for a coffee and meal during the day this local won’t be back.

Orewa has been revamped recently and the beach front boulevard paved and widened. Olivers probably has one of the best positions along here and caught us as we were ambling along here back from the beach. The large yellow umbrellas caught our attention as did the number of people sitting outside. The food isn’t amazing, but it’s decent. The menu is café/​diner style. My salad was pretty average but the ice coffee was good. It was a busy afternoon so we had to wait a little while for food; but we didn’t care we were on holiday! What I did like was that we could sit outside, in the sun, and chill. The whole area has a relaxed (retired?) feel about it and I think Oliver’s encapsulates this well.
