The Stadttempel(City Temple) is Vienna’s main Jewish synagogue and the only one to survive the National Socialists. It is also one of the most beautiful synagogues in the world. This is an original Josef Kornhäusl building and one of the very best examples remaining in this city showing off the genius of this Viennese Neo-classical/Biedermeier architect. The main auditorium is stunning with its oval design and multiple balconies. It also has great acoustics. There is an attractive community hall and dining room as well as an upstairs outdoor terrace where a Sukkah can be built. The Stadttempel is right in the middle of Vienna’s Bermuda Triangle and coincidentally just around the corner from the oldest chuch in Vienna — Ruprectskirche. It is an important part of Vienna’s history.
