Emilee’s Souvenirs

Great souvenir shop in Luquillo! They have everything from tshirts (starting at $ 6), to magnets, coconut candy, and mortar and pestles of all sizes.
The owners speak perfect English and are more than happy to help. I would recommend coming here for all your souvenir needs. If I had known I would find this gem, I would have saved the money I spent in San Juan for essentially the same items.

This is a store where the owners (and Emilee’s parents!) can be found everyday helping you with your needs. From T-​shirts, towels, hammocks and caps to beach toys and local candies, such as dulce de coco, & mampostial (both coconut-​based candies); dulce de ajonjolí (sesame-​seed candy), and gofio (corn and sugar powder candy).
They also sell local small-​batch ground coffee, and also maví, a local root-​based cold drink you can find throughout the island, but rarely as well made as the one sold here!
Don’t forget to pick up the required postcard and check out the hand-​carved pilón (mortar & pestle) for your kitchen or that of the gourmand in your life.
I lived in PR for most of my adult life and can tell you, among all the kiosks here, this one will offer you the most options souvenir-​wise.
Disclaimer: i know the family that owns this shop but reiterate unbiasedly that everything they sell is first class. I even pay for my own goodies when i visit once a year :)
