Been here a couple of times. First time — ate grilled chicken with Arroz congri and fried plantain(tostones). It was very good but this is a basic plate for puertorrican cuisine. Second time — ate gallina rellena con congri. Excellent plate ! My fav here. My friend ate mofongo with carne mechada. She said it was fabulous! Third time(why I am rating this place 4 and not 5) The servers and waiters were very rude we order 3 wine glasses and one lemonade. The lemonade never came we had to wait 15 minutes for the wine. We order 4 different plates, fish, chicken and meat. We waited one hour and half for the food !!! It was ridiculous! ! The food was good, like always. They have to hire more people and they have to be nice please !!! Now ! Something that I really like of this place. They serve all the food they have left to the homeless!

CHICKENMONFONGOYASQUEENSODELICIOUS. Honestly it was HUGE and filling. I also ordered some empanadas, which were pretty delicious. I suggest that you order the MONFONGO though. As far as prices I thought it was pretty expensive. But the staff was friendly and it was very empty in the restaurant.

This was our first of several local area restaurants we tried while staying in San Juan and we thought it was great. You can tell that a lot of effort goes into making this place a more elegant place to dine. It’s very clean(the ladies’ room could use a little work but I wasn’t eating in there so I don’t really care), the staff is very polite and attentive, and the food we experienced was delicious! I started off with a mojito and it was perfect — not to weak, not too strong, and lots of mint. Our waiter actually gave us a free plate of freshly made prom rinds with lime and they were surprisingly awesome. I ordered the chicken stuffed avocado and can easily say this was by far some of the best food I’ve had while traveling. Great flavor, totally fresh, and super filling. My boyfriend got the same dish but with crab which was also very good, but honestly the chicken was better. We’d also never had mofongo before so our waiter brought us a plate to try Great service here, great food, and great drinks!

Slow slow service can be forgiven but overcooked food can’t be. The sangria was just ok. The black bean soup was bland but ok and the separate white rice and raw onion helped. Recommended fish bites all breading was missing the fish. DONOTORDERSUNDAYSPECIALOFARROZCONPOLLO!!! Mushy overcooked rice similar to rice pudding and very dry bland white meat chicken. The 1 piece of asparagus was obviously from a can. We add literally 4 bites and just said hell no. Waitress asked what happened and the response of it was horrible was honest. Nothing taken as carry out. Only positive: they gave a container of food to the local homeless woman. Completely baffled at the number of locals eating at this place. Instant Upset stomach and pending bowel issues in the very near future. jacked up our entire night. $ 52 + $ 8 tip(don’t blame the waitress) wasted dinner.

The décor in this place isn’t the greatest, but the food was amazing. I had the churrasco mofongo, and it was delicious.

Excellent authentic Cuban food. I had the fried red snapper whole and it was superb. The flavor was good, fish fresh, and fried to perfection. The fried plantain strips were delicious too. Prices were reasonable and service was good once we got our server’s attention. Give it a try.

Try the Marquita’s here as an appetizer. They are long, thin slices of plantain, deep fried, and covered with a bit if salt and garlic. Good Puerto Rican food. Downside here like many restaurants on the island is slow inattentive service.

Very good food! We were here in November and really liked it. I had«pata de cerdo» which is a pig feet stew with garbanzos and my hubbie had the fried fish. The owners were super nice!

This place was a few blocks from our apartment, so we decided to try it out. It was fine, but nothing special. Go to Bebo’s instead! I tried the ropa vieja mofongo and husband got the shrimp mofongo. The meat was good, the mofongo not so much. It was also pretty pricey compared to other places in the neighborhood. There are so many better options in the neighborhood!

Service was very slow. Food was mediocre and served barely warm. We only were served ¾ dishes but were they tried to charge us for 4. It took me three times to ask for my change and we barely left a tip. Get mofogongo elsewhere.
